I have posted recently about my project to repair a Fantom Twister 700LX. I have solved the intermittent wiring problem and started reassembly. The customer took it apart to try to fix it and failed. After I brought it home I found these two parts (pictured in three positions) inside it. Any help you can suggest will be appreciated.

Mystery parts do not belong in this vacuum...I think

No one responded to my query so I am moving on with the assembly to complete this project.
