Funny post I found on another forum;
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/show... "hi, we have a canister vacuum cleaner - the type with a long hose with a pipe attached to the main body. i cleaned up dog poop with it many months ago and ever since then the smell remains in the pipes, and comes out of the other end of the vacuum, when the air gets blown out. any idea how to get this out ? i tried soaking the pipe overnight in a bucket of water and fairy. it helped a little but not a lot. somehow i think i've got to find a way to scrub inside the pipe, but it is so long. unless i use a broom handle or something" CLICK HERE TO GO TO richardc1983's LINK |

Grind up charcoal to dust and work it into the hose. Baking soda might work too. To use water will only prolong the coating the debris left. |

This is only funny to those who haven't experienced it!!
I clean houses for a living and one time a Rotweiler got extremely sick in a house I was cleaning and pooped in several locations little tid bits all over a one of those 2" or 3" long stranded yarn like rugs. I didn't see any mess at all at first till the front clear nozzle on her Dyson DC25 upright I was using turned brown. The room didn't even smell which was the bad part!! Then I looked more closely and discovered the horror!!! Luckily it wasn't a canister vac but that vacuum needed indepth cleaning!! For a canister vac I'd have to recommend soaking the entire hose and hoping it works, but hose may need to be replaced. Replace all filters and bag and disinfect bag compartment. Brush roll, agitator cavity and all other parts of power nozzle would need cleaned as well in addition to wands which some rags could be sent through or a drain cleaning brush. Really a shame. If I hadn't experienced it myself I might laugh too. On a normal carpet it would hard to miss but on that long stranded yarn rug it just buried itself deep in and was barely noticeable, but this dog got sick and didn't leave one massive pile! |

Why would ANYONE vacuum up feces? A shop wet/dry vacuum is the next best thing to use instead of a regular vac if U dont have a carpet extractor NEVER USE A REGULAR VACUUM for vacing up feces! |
