My mum received an email the other day about an all new cleaner from VAX announcing an all new full size cordless upright is due to be released. As she had bought a VAX product in the last 6 months, she was able to buy one at special price of £129.99 when the release price is £349.99 there was one 200 at that special price, so she couldn't pass it up, that offer was for one day only, did any of you get it at the special price?

I have not tried the original Air cordless but I used this one and it seems to be fantastic, the hose suction is of what I can compare to a Hoover Turbopower Total System but it cleans very well and has adequate suction for above floor cleaning.

it does have additional features over the original air cordless, the main one being the lift off canister, which also means that the hose is positioned higher up than on the original model and the hose is very long.

It also features a boost button to increase the power and it only returns to normal power when you press the button again, so it is not a timed limit :D that is a good feature.

All in all, I am very impressed with this cleaner, shame it is my mums! :(
I have a video uploading of my mum unboxing this and then another one lined up of the first switch on, I plan to do a full overview video of this.

Here are the pictures.

It has a nice long hose and the handle can be used as a wand

And finally...

here is the brushroll, nice stiff brushes, not too bad on edge cleaning but it does have the additional fixed edge brushes.

Ahhh, I see it has the new style Vax brushroll and not the one that was on the original Air. Glad to see that, those brushrolls do a great job

It agitates very well and cleans brilliantly, I love it.

Wow! Your mum got a good vacuum :) I like these, but want to get the corded one first. I like the lift off feature too!
I know this might be a silly question, but how does it compare as in carpet cleaning performance to other bagless uprights you have used? Reason being loads of people, including Roger have posted pics of a huge pile of dirt that the new air cordless has picked up after using a corded upright 😱
Unbelievable though, its shocking.
Thanks and hope your mum will get years of good use from it :)

Well it doesn't cling to the carpet but it cleans very well, possibly a bit better than a Dyson DC03, it is not as good as a corded vacuum but it is better than a stick vac, you can't have it all, but it picks up really well though and I and my mum are very pleased with it.

Nice! Thanks for letting me know :)
That looks like a good machine though, so tempted to get one. I agree about the Dyson DC03 thing, such underperformers.

Nice new Vax! Ive got the original Cordless Air and love it - but suction through the hose is awful. I doubt it will be an improvement on this model given that the uprights have the same power - however if the "Boost" button increases suction, then it may well improve suction through the much longer hose here.

I find that the hose suction is pretty decent in boost, I think the boost button was designed for hose use, again, it is not as powerful as an already upright or cylinder but it is very powerful for a 150w 20v full size vacuum.

Good videos though it would be handier to see the kind of power that the vac has on full charge with a turbo brush added to the hose. Only then one can see whether the boost is worth it or not.

It seems to spin my Numatic Airo Brush petty fast but it stops when it touches the carpet.

If you had a smaller turbine head you might see a difference, but then if it stops rolling on a carpet, I doubt this model by Vax is going to be a good alternative to several pet owners looking for something cordless AND powerful.
