I was having a really really bad morning at work today. Needless to say I decided to leave early which is something I rarely do. Anyways, I was going to go to the mall and do some retail therapy, but instead I decided to drive about 45 minutes away to a vacuum store I had never been to. After talking to them about my collection, etc. they let me go through their storage room in the back and pick out any old stuff that I wanted.

I wanted to share some pictures with you. I am very excited because this will give me projects to work on for a while.

P.S. Please don't look at how filthy dirty my car is...grrrr

Fantastic!

Congrats!

I, too, have that model Hoover Spirit... and that Dimension 1000. Love both of them. Those are most amazing powerheads.

:-)

And YAY for retail therapy!

Is it easy to replace the wheels on the spirit and dimension?

Post# 30674 , Reply# 6   1/31/2008 at 11:16 (5,923 days old) by hoovercelebrity (Germany)

Yup, should be.

Usually you can just pry the old ones out with a tiny screwdriver... on the Spirit. Don't remember the Dimension, but I think it's somewhat similar.

Wow!

Good for you Logan, you did very well! I had a similar experience a few weeks ago when I visited a vac shop that I had never been to before and got some really rare machines. Once I get them cleaned up and pics taken I'll post them. You got some real keepers there, and keep them all intact!

Fine examples all and look to be in terrific cosmetic condition. You're going to have some wonderful fun spiffing them up one by one.

A mini motherload - as I looked at the pictures I just kep saying 'oh, and there's a...'

I notice how the black cat heads towards the turquoise Compact Twins. :-) He knows a thing or two...what's his/her name?

Cat

I have two cats and they are brother and sister. They are gray/black tabby colored. The girl is named "Pickles" and the male is named "Cotton Motorboat" but I just call him "Motorboat." They are my babys!

Great Vac finds

Those are all great machines and kinda hard to find esp. the old Luxes in that nice condition, I have a Turquous G that I need to restore the paint on,I saw yours in another thread that looks like new,one of my favorites, Love the Car,that green with the light colored leather is a really nice BMW color combo. Thanks for the kind comments Mark.

LOL it was funny when I found that Lux Model R. The original handle had broken off, so someone cut a leather belt and screwed it to the top off the machine. hahaha. I guess whatever works!

Logan's Car

"Please don't look at how filthy dirty my car is...grrrr"

Logan:

Have you had your Beemer long? If you have, then you know that "dirty" for a BMW is equal to "fresh from the detailler" for any other car. You guys just have verrrrrry high standards, that's all!

Congrats on the jackpot!
I'm jealous about the model R, yours looks pretty good.
I guess I should visit more vac shops. :)

You got some nice finds there, especially the Luxes!! Looks like they're all in good condition, so restoration should be easy. Is the white Lux a model L?
Jeff

Hello

Jeff,

Yes, the white Lux is a Model L. It is the one that is solid white with blue trimmings (wheels, bumper, handle). Let's see...it was actually the first I started working on yesterday. The motor was shot in it, so I had another Lux L motor that I saved just for this scenario. I replaced the motor with the good one and it works ok now. The only thing I need for it is one of the little blue bumpers on the front of the machine. It is missing. I don't think that should be too hard to find...

Sandy,

I've had my car about 3 years now. I agree I do have very high standards when it comes to keeping my car clean, however I am still willing to load it down with filthy dirty vacuum cleaners! :-) Sometimes you just gotta compromise! LOL
