I know Fantoms are getting rare and I was wondering how many out there enjoy collecting them. I have a original Fantom (not a Thunder)2 Thunders, Green Fury, Crosswind and 2 Lightning canisters ( Only one is fully complete and fully functional).

I have one very nice example of a Fury, I also have 2 complete with tools Amway ClearTraks. I wouldn't turn down a nice Lightning if one came my way, but I'm not going to want to pay much of anything for one either, I'd love one with the mini-PN.

I like your Crosswind. That is a rare machine! Where did you get it? I have 3 Fantoms,
2 Thunders, 4 Furys, a Lightning and a Cyclone XT. I also have 2 Kenmore Destiny Pluses, one 11 amps, one 12 amps and I have a Kenmore Drytech shampooer, the first dual cyclonic machine made by Iona appliances. Fantoms were the FIRST machines I started to collect, and to this day, 1/4 of my collection consists of Iona/Fantom Technologies vacuums. My first Fantom was a Thunder for $20 in 2009, it still works. My aunt gave me the infomercial tapes as a kid, which started my interest in Fantoms. I still have all of those but one. As a kid, I came across many Fantoms. We had a Kenmore Destiny Plus, two of my aunts had a Fury and a Lightning, my old cub scout leader had a Cyclone XT, and my mom's old boss had a Thunder, which would later meet it's fate as an office vacuum. I'm still looking for a Wildcat, and maybe one of the Crosswinds, if I can find one.

I actually found the Crosswind on the side of the road! the mesh filter was so clogged it wasn't worth saving, I also had to disassemble the motor to clean out the mounds of hair and gunk that was stuck in the fan. the block foam afterfilter was trashed as well, but with all the time and effort I put into the machine it seems too work quite well, I found a replacement filter set and its got pretty good suction. I do have a Kenmore Destiney but the motor is totally shot, do you think it would be worth it to throw in a Thunder motor ( ive got 3 spare NOS motors)in it? I'm finding that the vinyl hoses seem to split at the end where it enters the adapter into the machine. I just wish Fantom would have made the base on the Fury's better, I've got 3-4 bases where the entire front is cracked or even on some, missing.

Do put that rebuilt motor in that Destiny!

You'll get many years of service out of it! The Fantom Thunder and Kenmore Destiny are identical, so the motor will fit.

I have an 11.5 amp Thunder and a fury. Love them both, especially the thunder because of it's tone.
