Has anyone checked out the Eureka website lately? They only have a select few canisters listed now. I remember not too long ago they had a full line of canisters shown including the Oxygen. My question is, did they discontinue these vacuums? I know that the Oxygen is now being made under the Electrolux name, but what happened to all the others?

Hi Logan. Good to see another canister person here. I grew up with canisters so I never got used to uprights.

Target actually has a Eureka canister model called the Air Extreme that is very good. It somehow made it into my shopping cart one day! I don't like the dusting brush and bought a full sized one at a vacuum shop. All the other tools are fine. You also get large floor tool and a power paw. It uses OX bags that are so easy to change. Go take a look at it. You can find it at the larger Target stores. Oh! And it's blue! My favorite color!

I'm with Ross, I love canisters! The more attachments, the better!

Hey Marty! I looked at a picture of the Air Extreme...it looks tiny! How big is it? I will have to check them out the next time I'm in Target.

Ryan (my other half) bought me a Eureka HP6855A High Performance Canister off Ebay about a week ago. I told him he can buy me vacuums whenever he wants as a joke and he took it seriously! LOL. I'm really curious how it will perform once it gets here.

Size

Logan, the Air Extreme is about the size of the Electrolux (Eurekalux) Oxygen or Harmony cleaners. It's a midsized vacuum i guess.

I was in Wal-Mart the other day and saw a Eureka canister that looks similar to my Riccar, mine uses the cloth type disposable bags and the cheapest I've seen them for is for 14.95 for a small package on e-bay,I only paid 19.99 for the vacuum at Goodwill,so I bought the Arm & Hammer brand that are for the Eureka Style T for like 3.00 and they work, just had to cut the round tab off, they both use a similar bag holder, the Riccar is made in China,it is the Sunburst model, very lightweight and super powerfull I wonder if it is related to the Eureka Electrolux line,The air powered powernozzle is great I have to use the suction release because it grabs onto area rugs and gets hard to push.
