My latest acquisition, an Electrolux XII-A, arrived last Wednesday. I bought it on ebay for only (are you sitting down?? Good!!) $5.00, plus $12.00 for shipping. As you can see in the photos, this will be a project vac, but will be mostly cosmetic work, as she runs like a champ!! I learned from Charles Lester that the XII-A is a rare model, and apparently this particular one was a rebuild, indicated by the painted end covers. Who says you can't find bargains on ebay any more?? Jeff |

This picture shows everything that came with the XII-A. Original rug and upholstery nozzles are at the left, generic rug nozzle and crevice tool, and a Westinghouse nozzle are at the right. And for those who are interested, the table everything's sitting on was bought by my parents in 1955, when they bought their first house. Jeff |

Jeff, just wondering if the orginal rug nozzle has a swivel on its connection? I'm guess not! |

Alan, I'm with you--I can't wait to see how I do this one up either! But I do know that rubbing compound, Mother's Mag, and some elbow grease will be involved. These pics are just as it came out of the box, so they're the "BEFORE" pics. May be a while till we get to "AFTER." Stay tuned for further developments. Mike, as far as powerful, it's not quite as powerful as the earlier (475 watts) version of the Lux XXX, but it's probably as good as it gets for only having a 350 watt motor. Terry, the nozzle does swivel all the way around. You can use it upside down for concentrated suction like the nozzle on the Lux XXX. Jeff |
