Or you can get an auto save Henry and make it a simple circuit with just a switch and motor in it! Hi lo button is for decoration only

Erik, auto save is the name of the feature whereby the vacuum starts in its lowest setting. It has a spring loaded switch to increase to full power

I bypassed my autosave to run on full wack as soon as you switched it on. I've now got the 580w so that is only single speed anyway.

I wish the 580 W ones had the steel sole plates and more suction, those two things put me off :/

My fav Henry's are those made between 2004 and 2012

Yep mine is a hetty parwaz with the plastic sole plate, apparently the John Lewis exclusives have the same head with a metal plate. I'm thinking of converting my back to the amtek lamb 1200w, does anyone know If it will drop into the 580w casing?

I guess you could try if the motor housings look identical and have the same dimensions :)
