I'm not too sure about the royal bags. My only concern would be about making the seal airtight between the bag and bag door so you wouldn't lose suction. I picked up some old paper bags made for the model 30 (since discontinued) and they didn't work well at all, but I didn't think at the time to try and put the rubber gasket from the cloth bag around the paper one, I'm thinking that may do the trick. You can check eBay for the XXX paper bags, there may still be some floating around.

I have tried so many times to get a paper bag to work well in my Model 30. Every one has either restricted airflow badly or made it impossible to latch the front cover on properly. Now I've just stuck with using the cloth bag on its own. I wonder if you could cut a Hoover Style A HEPA bag to fit inside of the cloth bag, it wouldn't restrict airflow like a paper liner. But, those HEPA bags are kind of expensive, and I wouldn't cut one up if I could use it in one of my Hoover uprights. LOL |

There was an adapter made to allow the model 30 to use standard Electrolux bags. Not real easy to find but that would be the way to go if you could manage to find one.
Charles Lester's website has a section about it - www.1377731.com/bagchamber/... |

There used to be some generic paper bags available that were made to fit several different makes and models of tank cleaners, including the Lux XXX. One style had a cardboard rim attached to the paper bag, the other was simply a paper sack that you folded the end over, re-installed the cover, and tore off the excess. I think one works as good as the other.
