Hello All! I have a MAJOR problem with this Kirby. Okay, everything is intact, but every time I switch it on, it won't turn on at ALL. I replaced the back motor switch, the front safety switch, etc. But it won't turn on!!!! Any advice???

worn Carbon Brushes, armature field coil might have gone bad, commutator might be bad as well, then you have the cord, and the receptacle where the cord plugs into, the wiring for the motor. I honestly don't know where you want to begin.

Does the headlight come on?

Your first step is to get a multimeter and check the cord for continuity by turning the meter to ohms (Ω).  If the cord checks out OK, then plug the female end into the vacuum and turn the power switch to the on position.  Check the male ends of the power cord for continuity.  If the needle on the meter doesn't move (or is weak), then move on to the switches, the wiring on the motor field and last the segments on the commutator.

Got it!

Alright, and yes the headlight does come on. I just checked the cord, and both female and male receptacles work. I just have to check the internal wiring.

Seems like it's obviously the motor, carbon brushes could be the issue
