Hello, it is vacuumkid47. Anyways, I have here a Kirby Heritage II with some problems. Every time I switch it on, the head seems to sound like it is not working probably. It has a hissing sound. I replaced the brushroll, rug plate, and the belt. But it still has the problem. It is in beautiful condtion, but that is the only issue.

You might also check the gasket on the power unit where the rug nozzle attaches. Sometimes they wear, or come lose and this can cause a loss of suction and the hiss you hear.

Another source is where the rug plate sits the gasket material can wear and allow a vacuum leak.

Both of these are relatively easy fixes, then you get more complicated where the nozzle is not attaching tight enough etc.

Problem solved!

Thank you for the advice. I was looking at it, and I replaced the bearings and it seems to be working fine. I also found out that the brushroll split in HALF. I ended up paying $45 for a new one.
