I called Tom at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum & Factory Outlet last week and set up a time to go down to St. James. He said Wednesday (yesterday) would be good for him, so I told him I'd be there. I got there between 10:30 and 11:00 and spent the day. He gave me a tour through the museum to show me some points of interest and sometimes, when he had time, we just sat and talked. It was a fun day. I took a few pictures. Thanks, Tom.

My Great-Grandmother had an Airway like this. Tom told me this color (model) was pretty rare. Guess I should have kept it but I didn't know at the time.

Here, Tom shows me the details of a pre-war Electrolux and how they changed after the war.

This vacuum claims to make one "Mor Healthy".

Everyone needs an "Air Queen" to go with their "Filter Queen" and "Speed Queen". Everyone - Get your "Queens" in a row! LOL.

While I was setting in a chair by the door just inside the museum a couple were signing the guest book before leaving. I asked them where they were from and he replyed "New Zealand". He had gone to school at Missouri University of Science and Technology or University of Missouri, Rolla, as we call it around here. It's one of the four schools in the University of Missouri System, with Columbia being the flagship school. Rolla is just a few miles down I-44 from St. James.

Thanks for the super fantastic pictures of Tom's amazing museum! Tom and I may disagree on something's, but not on vintage vacuums.  Way to go Tom...over the top!!!

Thanks Brian for spending the day at the Museum with me. We had a blast. Donnie sure was glad to meet you too. Come back any time, we'll have lunch at Tuggie and Joe's again - the food there is sure good.

Every time I see pics I want to be there even more!

I've got to figure out how to get there! It might be my only chance to ever see a Hoover Model O or a Kenmore Bug-Eye. There's nothing like this in my immediate area. Texas is such a throw-away state and everything old in Louisiana has alteady been taken by hurricanes.
