I think that is a strange place to put the switch on a vacuum honestly, I'm not really sure what I think about that aspect, other than that it looks similar to any other Sebo upright. This one seems based on the 2 motor setup, but I don't understand why you'd put the switch in the base on a machine with a motor in the bottom of a removable handle setup like that.

That video has put me off getting one any time soon. I will save my next Sebo purchase for one of the E series cylinders. |

I'm not too terribly impressed with it. I see that it uses the same brushroll set up as the Versamatic/360 and versamatic plus/370, and i feel their dual row brush is a better cleaner. It seems to be a single motor system, if you watch this video you can see at about 4:20, after he removes the bag chamber, there are two tubes coming from the base, much like the Sensor/G/X. so unless they've used a difference motor it's performance would be like pairing a Sensor/G/x series motor with the brushroll from the 370. I know the 370 had higher airflow than the Sensor S12 i had, so i cannot see this being a better cleaner than the 2 motor systems, or the single motor machines with the dual row brushroll.
The only things i can say i like about it up front are the interchangable cords, as in commercial environments you can chew through cords pretty quick, and having the switch mounted in the base, eliminating wiring running through the bag chamber area. CLICK HERE TO GO TO Blackheart's LINK |

Good to read responses from everyone.
Well it is a commercial upright and SEBO wanted to do just do a single motor run commercial upright with some improvements. The replaceable cord idea was seen on the Professional D cylinder vacuum only two years ago; other commercial companies such as Numatic have often offered a replaceable cord as well as the Vax VCU02 upright. The overload hinge has been added obviously because owners of existing commercial uprights demanded it. The kick plate is a good idea, has been done before on other brands. Blackheart - the video link you provide shows the older SEBO XP2 auto sensor commercial vac with a single motor - the two tubes you indicate act as the main dust channel and the secondary filter exhaust tube - also provided on the domestic SEBO X1/X4 series and the Windsor S12. Obviously until the Evolution series has been properly tested, we won't know what the airflow is like. What the Evolution allows are three different strengths of brush roll strips as opposed to the generic 2 that SEBO supply. Shortly more than a month ago I acquired an old SEBO 360 which seems to pick up a heck of a lot more than my old X1 Automatic. True, it has manual height adjustment over the Sensor models but all of their brush rolls are made of plastic compared to the metal brush roller bar fitted to the old 360 and this new Evolution series. Clearly the Evo uprights have been built for longevity and fuss free running. As Blakaeg rightly notes, keeping all the wiring in one place and away from the handle as with the old ensures less breakage over time. I have a feeling though that the main motor is inside the floor head, not the bag chamber - after all the X series doesn't have the motor in the bag chamber. |

Thanks for the video post sebo_fan looks a great vacuum. I like how he throws the Evolution on the floor I think to demonstrate the new over secure foot pedal that SEBO mention!?
The motor is definately in the base making it easy for maintaince and less complex as a commercial vacuum. I was trying to see on the video but there must be 3 ducts as a suppose to the 2 the X series has (and the G series still getting to know all of the commercial models SEBO do!) if you look at the pictures on the SEBO.de website. This shows a side profile where the body is attached to the base looks thinker than the X series. I could only make out 2 on the video.. must watch again!! Reason I think 3, one for the airflow to travel up the wand into the bag, second the airflow to leave through the pre motor filter that's sits at the side of the bag down to the motor, third once the airflow leaves the back of the motor to go back up to the body through the post motor HEPA Filter and out at the bottom at the front of the body (bag housing)?? Just my thoughts! |
