Has anyone heard anymore about when the new Kirby Avalir will be available for purchase?

Spoke to the local dealer. She was somewhat confused. Thought I wanted a Sentria. She was going to send me a card with the shops new address and date of release for AV. So far nothing. This was two weeks ago

Thought it was December at earliest? The current stock of Sentria 2's has to be sold out first. How long will this take?If nothing else-have your Kirby dealer contact you when the Avalirs become available.

When the Avalir was unveiled at the Kirby World Conference on October 25th this year, I was informed by somebody high up in Kirby that it would be 11 weeks until the Avalir would hit the market. That would be roughly sometime after the first of Janaury 2015. In Hawaii, the Avalir is apparently already being sold. I'm told that Hawaii sells them the fastest and that's how they got the Avalirs so quickly. Hope this helps. Hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I think it depends if the Kirby dealer(s) have any remaining stock of Sentria IIs

Sounds terrible that you can't get the "new" vac

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
until they "get rid of the {older} model." Some people, I'm sure won't care about getting the 'old' one. They won't/can't release the NEW model until..............................
For all of you kirby people, I hope you get your new ones, and I hope you like them.
Not a Kirbylover here, but, I appreciate.
remember??

Is that expression, "Why am I here"?

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
or was it just , "take the @#$ picture". Security was, " What's THAT on that guy's hoodie"? That was the least of his problems that day. We were sure they were building your NEW Kirby on the first floor. We were whisked away upstairs where the old stuff was still being "finished up".
I will say:' IMMACULATE factory. Perhaps they cleaned all the areas with a Guardsman..perhapse a Portapower at each station? Not sure. It was ALL a blurr.

John

Just curious, did that shirt cause any burns on your body? Did you develop any harsh rashes, or itching? Was there any need to call a Priest?

I can't imagine what a Kirby Logo would do to a Hoover Guy.

However, I DID

notice "steam" emerging from the washer when I washed it in the house of HOOVER. And, I washed it in cold water.

Oh John, John, John, you know every station at the factory was Kirby clean, I seen many Generation and Heritage series machines tucked away under the work benches and in the locker areas, I have to say, I did see one fitted with an Electrolux combo dusting brush on the end of the hose. And you are right, while we were touring the Sentria II part of the factory, I am sure they were producing the Avalirs somewhere, they were very secretive, even in the bag sewing department, there was rolls of bag material which all looked familiar, I did not see any strange or foreign material in there at all.

"Steam" you say. . .

Did it have a odor of sulfer by chance?

Hope your Thanksgiving was great.

Good guess Kirby must have been building the Avalirs in the site located in Texas.

But then again . . .

When we were at Kirby in Cleveland this past June, we were told that the Texas plant is where Kirbys are assembled with the 220 motor for sale overseas. Charlie is correct when he mentioned about noticeable secrecy in what we were allowed to see and hear at the Cleveland plant. We toured the second floor where we were allowed to see Sentria IIs coming off the line. However, there was a whole first floor in the plant we could not see or talk about. My guess is this is where the Avalirs were being tested. And, for customers who sent in their Kirbys to be rebuilt, that process was taking place in another building.
