A few days before I received John Gregory's kind gift, the Hoover Convertible 1060, I was browsing my local Craigslist and found this Kirby G3, with all attachments and shampooer as well as instruction manual for $30. Not bad. Runs excellent. Gave it a small spa treatment and a new bag and belt and it's running well. I know many of you have certain manufacturers that you're dead set on...but it's hard for me to choose...I love all Kirbys, Hoovers, and Eurekas.

I am kind of the same way, there are several brands that I love, Kirby, Hoover, Sanitaire, GE to name a few. Some for different reasons, some for the same. Some clean better than others, some look better than others, some come with more options/attachments, etc. I think collecting anything would be rather boring if there was only one brand or style to collect, but that's just my unprofessional opinion lol.
