I rarely deviate from Kirbys, but I stumbled upon this over the weekend. The elderly woman across the street from my house recently moved to an assisted living facility (she just celebrated her 100th birthday!) Of course I had to walk over and check it out. I found this cute little thing in the basement and felt compelled to save it.

Now, my questions are:

-What model is it?

-What attachments should it have with it? I only have the floor nozzle.

-What type of bags does it use? I just has a cloth bag but I imagine there should be a paper one as well?

GE Swivel Top

This is one of the last of the famous Swivel Top that was introduced in 1952 at $100.This is about 1970 when it was a simple, basic and great vac at $39.At this time they were often sold in stores that also had large appliances. They were sometimes demoed by removing lid, turning on,sticking to side of stove with suction that was powerful enough to lift side of stove as GE was lifted. This smaller body style was introduced about 1958.
There were several colors from this period. This one looks to be in good shape but might be losing suction from a worn and leaking hose. The other atts were crevice, round dust brush and upholstery nozzle with no bristle. All white. The bags were an open sack that fitted into the cloth back and folded down around the edges. You might have luck with bags and atts at any surviving furniture, appliance and hardware stores that might remain in your area.

Thanks for the info. The hose is actually pretty supple and has great suction. I took it all apart last night and cleaned the dust out and laundered the bag. The previous owner appears to have just been using the cloth bag to catch the dirt, but it doesn't seem like it did a great job filtering the dust, given how much was in the bottom of the machine.
