Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a compact canister vacuum with an electric powerhead and an on off switch on the handle. It also has to have auto rewind cord. It will be for my commercial store which has large area rugs and bare floor. Thought it should be compact because we don't have a lot of storage space.

I am a recent "convert" to Miele canister vacs. They are compact and lightweight and durable, and provide great performance because of the high air flow generated by their powerful motors. Excellent filtration and ease-of-use make them a popular choice in many countries around the world.

It sounds like the compact Miele S6 Topaz would serve your needs perfectly, though the hose handle only controls the power nozzle. To turn the vac off and on, you step on the large foot pedal on top of the canister itself.

Here's a nice videoclip:

I would be at two minds to recommend a Miele S6 vacuum for a commercial store.

What kind of store do you have? What is the actual space?

Miele make fine vacuums in my opinion - for domestic homes - however not all of their models have long cords and you may find that you will need an extension reel for use.

As the owner of a previous S6, the tools on the hose can get lost over time because they mount externally compared to the super hide away function from the previous S5 vacuums or the newer S8 vacuums.

Also the bag capacity on S6 vacs are smaller than the S5 and S8, meaning more pay out for dust bags.

I keep forgetting that the USA has the Numatic Henry vacuum - Go Vacuum were selling this tub canister with a PN head. In the UK, almost all shops have a Henry vacuum. It doesn't have an auto cord rewind but a manual roller that rolls the cable back in. They are built for the industry, much better than Miele IMHO.
