A fortnight ago we had a macmillan coffee morning at work, with a raffle to win a DC50 Animal donated by Dyson. I thought why not, after all its a worthy charity and it is a Dyson!

So with luck would have it, I won it!

Lovely colour. Very rinky dinky, looks toy like, but that is where it ends.

The filter, used a few times, but not a spec of dust on it. The two tier radial must be doing well

Two tier radial cyclones. Can't help but love that colour

This is the fourth bin of muck. I managed to get two full bins in one day. This is a home which has a S7 and X4, so is supposedly clean.

its a deep cleaner, the brush works well

Active brushbar on carpet

Active brushbar on hard floor. The gap can be clearly seen

Post# 300968 , Reply# 6   10/7/2014 at 15:19 (3,487 days old) by adamthemieleman (North Yorkshire )

Top down. The brush bar can be better seen. It features the carbon fibre filaments and the direct drive motor.

Performance is excellent, one can feel the grip it has on carpet, with good beating action. Not at all noisy and has good suction. It is only 700w

So are you liking Dyson again now then?

Post# 301063 , Reply# 8   10/8/2014 at 14:26 (3,486 days old) by Adamthemieleman (North Yorkshire )

Yes Benny, I am. Had encouraging words from a regional manager, so still trying to work in the r&d.
My liking of Dyson runs deep, so it's hard to abandon.

I'm in amazement of this machine, so small but packs a punch

Post# 305209 , Reply# 9   11/7/2014 at 12:51 (3,456 days old) by Adamthemieleman (North Yorkshire )

Few weeks in,I am still impressed with this machine. It grooms very well, and the results can easily be seen. This is with us using an s7 prior.

Marcus, I did get your message, sorry I haven't replied. The bristles don't extend to the edge, but it has channels in the side. They do well indeed, the dust trembles from quite a distance.

Has much use, and it's incredible thr crud it picks up. And the filter is spotless. All in all its impressive. I rather like the new additions to the tools dyson have added, the new flexible crevice with below tool, and the new carbon fibre dusting brush.

I have it on good authority that the Dc35 and 44 are to be phased out, the 59 will become the entry, the fluffy as the intermediate and the motorhead as the top end.

Hey I'm glad you are enjoying your Dyson DC50 Adam. Happy to see I'm not the only one on here :-)))

Post# 305212 , Reply# 11   11/7/2014 at 13:12 (3,456 days old) by marcusprit ()

Oh yes I have the flexible crevice tool. Very useful. Is the carbon fibre dusting brush available now? I want one of those!

I'm not sure if you can buy it separately, it comes with our exclusive dc53 and dc55 machines, finished in lush scarlet red. Almost tempted myself!

The new tools you can only get them with those machines in the whole of United Kingdom I love the new DC 55 as that red is just gorgeous.

Post# 305219 , Reply# 14   11/7/2014 at 13:30 (3,456 days old) by marcusprit ()

Oh well I hope they make it available at some point. The carbon fibre filaments on the brushroll do a great job on hard floors so I'm sure the dusting brush will be just as good!

Post# 305222 , Reply# 15   11/7/2014 at 13:41 (3,456 days old) by Adamthemieleman (North Yorkshire )

It really is Josh, it's supposed to be inspired by our logo. If you haven't seen one in person, you need to! The dusting brush works very well, I've already tried it out. My only criticism is the under tool could do with being wider and thinner, it's too chunky to get under appliances.

Yes Marcus it is entirely exclusive to us!

Something I'd like to do, maybe not permanently, for a couple of years or so, is work at Curry's, demonstrating vacuums and such. The local Dyson demonstrator is a very nice man who told me how to get a job for Curry's.

OMG nice! Free DC50 which was only launched in December 2012! Enjoy your new toy, I would love a
DC55 or DC41 mk2, they really have improved since the DC01 rapidly over the years, that is what I like about Dyson, is that they are always improving.
Regarding staff discounts, that would make me envious, LOL, but it is a great advantage!

PS ADAM, if I were you I would keep an eye on the brushbar so that it is always clear of threads and hair, because it will wear the carbon fibre filaments down.
Enjoy!

Nice win, but is there any reason to why there seems to be a lot of dust on the top of the cyclones in picture 2?

Post# 305327 , Reply# 28   11/8/2014 at 06:54 (3,456 days old) by marcusprit ()

No dust on top of my cyclones Sebo fan. All the dust remains tightly sealed in the bin. :-)

That's just static with it being new. No dust leaking.

Sebofan, the reason is obvious, because it's a Dyson! tongue-out
