I went to what I call "The Ghetto ARC." Actually, side track.

I call it the ghetto ARC for a few reasons. My dad's car was almost broken into, my mom's boyfriend was asked, "If you light my cigarette, I'll ____ you." (I think you can figure it out... Yes she was serious.) Some lady ran into me and knocked me over to grab the laptop I had in my hand (Oh well. Late 90's, early 2000's Dell. Wasn't a big deal and I hadn't paid yet.) And most recently on Saturday, I was looking at a Gamecube game in one of the cabinets, and a guy who had been sleeping on the couches (100% drunk) jumped up like someone jabbed him in the earlobe, realized he released what nature was calling,  walked to the bathroom not even 3 feet in front of him, couldn't figure out how to open the door, and just continued releasing all over the floor... He backed up, and fell asleep on the couch again.

Fantastic.

ANYWAY, I was at the Ghetto ARC and I was walking around. I've seen some cool vacuums there before like a mid-40's Hoover, Sentria II ($350 though,) NSS Pig ($400 -sigh-) and some other highly sought after vacuums.

I went to the back and noticed a Kirby Legend II! Exciting. I've wanted one to match my Heritage II.

However... The price tag was $60. I was going to pass except yellow tags were 50% off that day.

The yellow ARC sticker also said "Piece 1 or 3." Wait... What?

Oh. Oh... The Classic III attachments next to it must go to it.

Yep. Piece 2 or 3 and Piece 3 of 3 sat next to it.

Meh. I have a lot of Classic III attachments. Not a big deal. Might as well take them.

I'm really... REALLY glad I did. You'll see why in a moment.

No major scratches on the head of the cleaner. I'm actually quite surprised.

Yay... Like I need any more Suds heads... Not like I have 3 at this point just from the Classic Series...

Looks like I'll need a replacement bag eventually. That cloth patch is rather hideous.

IT IS. IT IS.

A freaking Vacuette. It needs some cleaning, but it looks to be in fantastic shape.

Awesome find! I hate to sell your bubble, but I don't believe there ever was a Heritage II themed Vacuette!

Oh and I love the stories of that thrift shop, got any more of them? laughing

Well, I meant the vacuette like the one in this thread: http://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?7366 I guess I was mistaking the black handheld for the Heritage II one.

I have a few stories of that ARC, but nothing super drastic outside of getting yelled at, getting knocked over (this has happened multiple times) and just cool items I've found.

You must be referring to the Sears Craftsman handled, Douglas made that for Sears, along with manufacturing that model for Kirby as the Vacuette, and for themselves as the Douglas Readi-Vac. I have all of these except the Vacuette.I rarely use them due to the noise level, but it would be nice to have the complete collection. Have you tried yours, yet?

What other cool things have you found at the ARC? Considering you were carrying around a 90s Dell laptop,I take it you like old computers, too?

At this ARC, I've found an HP Compaq machine from 2009 (3.0ghz Core 2 Duo machine) that my sister current uses as her main machine.

XO-1 ONE Laptop Per Child laptop. Pretty cool little machine.

Some custom built 2.8ghz Core 2 Duo machine. $10. I had to replace some caps on the motherboard, but it was fine.

Misc Dell and Lenovo/IBM laptops.

iBook G3, G4, and a PowerBook 5300c. (Unfortunately, they priced these laptops wayyy above what I wanted to pay for them. I think they were all $85 to $120 a piece.)

I've found a couple of a Denon Receivers. An Apple 16 color monitor for the Quadra/Performa Series... (I did buy that.)

Some other laptops I forget about...

I'm heavily into computers, though, I'm more into macs.

LOL I asked about a beat-up iMac at the FLEA-MARKET....dirty keyboard with a missing key...$150!

Then I saw a newer one at a pawn shop...$300!

Looks like I won't be getting into Macs any time soon tongue-out

I bought a Brand-new Snow iMac G3 from the thrift store for $35. Too bad I didn't leave it in the protective bag it came in, and turned it on, and set it up.

Oh well... It's still nice and pretty.
