My Mom had one of these way back when (I was born in '56).
Now I can't even remember what made me go to eBay to find one, except I needed a new vacuum cleaner, and I guess I wanted a Hoover. Somewhere along the line the memory of this fantastic machine popped up.
It arrived yesterday ($25 + $25 S&H) and it works GREAT!

Now I need the attachments. ;)

That looks like my Model 86 (which I think was made in 1958).  I love that thing!  It's really fun to use.  laughing

are virtually IMPOSSIBLE to attain for vintage hoover on ebay. ive had much better luck finding vintage attachments at thrift stores, estate sales and vacuum shop back rooms. old vac shops are best if you can get on a good rapport with your local shop in an older part of town.

I was bragging about my new toy/tool to my friends on a BMW motorcycle forum (old BMWs, not the new crap ;) ), and I immediately got a heads up on this one!
A little beat up, but everything I need, plus spare parts!

I am at work, so I can't copy the image to my hard drive to post in my message.
It is a safe link!

The one in your link appears to be all origial. Real shame that the correct rug/ floor tool is damaged so bad. Tg
