I spotted the new Hoover Diva A2 bagged stick vacuum on EBay UK only a few days ago and wondered why it could be refurbished already with a cheap cost price slapped to it.

Well, when I got the slightly battered box, I was presented with the Hoover "Idol" even if it carries a "Diva" tag name on the 1.8 litre dust bag. Make no mistake, this is clearly a bagged stick vacuum cleaner designed for short use.

It is very similar to the Hoover Diva that ozhoover purchased (see URL link share to an archive thread on here)

However, the floorheads supplied are nothing short of disappointing IMHO.

The carpet floor head is useless and difficult to push along carpet.

The hard floor tool has a strange rubber squegee roller bar made up of many strips of rubber plus a fixed bar along of rubber - why so much rubber - it sticks to hard floors and makes it impossible to clean with.

Both heads don't allow the IDOL to stand up independently and the built in hose behind the handle is shorter than the SEBO Felix.

Thankfully there's a HEPA filter and the Wessel Werk turbo brush is much better but it is a small one and only seems to spin when the 750 watt motor on the IDOL is increased to the highest.

On board tools consist of a toy town like metallic pop out dusting brush that slides onto the main hose or a long crevice tool type wand in the middle of the vac. Both are rectangular fittings.

Still, if this vacuum cleaner was actually priced at £100 for what it offers, it would probably be a good seller. At £249 to £299, it is far too pricey. Hopefully Hoover Europe/UK may improve on things.
