By the looks of it, the "new" updated SEBO range has arrived at John Lewis UK.

The X1.1 Eco is also showing with an 850 watt motor but I'm not sure if that motor rating is correct.

Very interesting. Would love me one of them D4 premiums. I had one around a year ago before I got my felix, but got it exchanged as there was a whistling coming from the check bag indicator which was very prominent. Beautiful vacuum though, and a top fill bag I think its called. Did not loose suction at all even as the bag filled.

No it's not correct. X1.1 has an 1100 watt motor as with the X4's!!

Can't wait to try the new SEBO Eco models especially the Felix and X series. I quite like the D4 Premium too oliveoiltinfoil won't mind trying this model too with its new 700 watt motor.

Hi

The suction is less on the 700w than on the 2100w, need to use it on full power for the parquet head where as with the old one less than half power was ok, the plastic is now more black than grey (i have spare tube from my old D4 and the could difference is very noticeable) the model name is now on the lid instead of above the plug. No other changes to tools or box.

I bought mine direct from Sebo for £379.96 1p more than John Lewis but then they did give me a box of bags free.

That's disappointing to know, especially in light of the fact that the rest of the Eco D2's have 1200 watts now instead of 2100 watts. I still have the old 2100 watt model, but it wouldn't change my opinion of the brand.

A friend of mine recently tried my Miele S8 Ecoline (previous model from last year 1200 watts) and thinks it is brilliant. However she is slightly ditzy and reports that they have bought the newer Miele model with the 700 watt motor - it may be coincidence but she says that the newer one doesn't have as much pull.

My Felix upright has 1300 watts but it hardly gets used at the highest suction speed. Lowest speed is 1000 watts. I would hedge a bet that the SEBO D series and Miele S8's with their largest dust bag capacities could well be the reason to why power might be lower.

Hi

I used to use my felix at min setting with the head on for carpets, i did have the felix pet but might buy the felix vogue eco as i want white vacs which don't show any marks : ) the felix pet has now been sold along with my X4 pet which was never used.

Bought a Dyson DC56 hard just to nip over floors in between main vacuuming, added the articulating head and it is fantastic, doubt if i will use it for anything else though.

D4 eco is powerful just not as much as my old 2100w D4 which seemed to be on a low setting for everything, that stiff reluctant to twist hose still annoys me though, i guess when it gets more use it will be easier to use. I will get an E series as soon as they are launched just for upstairs

Thanks for sharing the info and picture v6jme on the D4 Eco. Interesting to know about how your finding the new Eco model with its 700 watt motor. If you a Felix Eco model you will have to let us know what it's like. Going to hopefully try a Felix and X series Eco models out sometime. Look forward to seeing what the new E series is like too.

Hello,

To v6jme

I have a question. Are the new eco models quieter than the older, more powerful models?

Is the new 700 watt Eco D4 quieter than the 2100 watt D4 on low settings?

Hi

I would say the sound level is about the same, the ET head makes more noise than the vacuum when used on a carpet upstairs.

I think SEBO's electric hose should improve in time, but don't forget the cord runs inside the hose, so it will always be difficult to twist and turn and SEBO have built it to the point that it hardly requires much maintenance in later life. It is the pigtail connectors I have had problems with my own K3 Premium. It reiterates my opinion that for me, a cylinder vac with a PN head is not all that versatile.

Some day if cylinders with PN in the UK should take off, there may well be other brands who can offer a lighter solution.
