New model launching in Japan. Uses a unique brushbar designed for large debris pickup, as well as fine dust. Looks like it would be awesome for bare floors (like most of their current models). Here's some vids!

Now That flexible soft brushroll-or polisher roll is a real innovation--CLEVER-If this was a generic attachment would be interested.Maybe they should make a turbo powered version of this for other types of vacuums.Wonder if the thing could also polish prewaxed wood floors as you sweep-vacuum them with this tool. And would bet the flexible roll would clean dust of of the grout on tiled floors.

What a wonderful looking piece of kit. Look like no other floor attachment I have seen. I see it shaking the dirt before it gets picked up! Of course someone is going to come along in a minute and find fault in it, because it was made by Dyson. Oh dear.

Ooh I quite like it,

Nice. However, it looks like a huge commercial vacuum polishing roller pad made smaller by Dyson with a suction channel at the back.

I don't know what the fuss is all about regarding snowplowing of piles of dirt: If I ever encounter such large pieces of dirt, I just use the end of the hose to pick up the pieces. Though intriguing, I really wonder if that fluffy brush-roll will scratch floor surfaces as it tries to snag the large pieces. I imagine gravel from a garden or even sand will get scraped across the floor due to the flat pressure put on the dirt. In Canada, many of our cities use gravel or sand or even salt particles to deal with icy roads and sidewalks. Our entryways and vestibules get littered with these hard granules. I don't think I would want this Dyson to clean up that kind of gritty litter.

I also wonder how this soft brush roll will handle pet hair and long human hair in bathrooms....

On the other hand, I must salute Dyson for constantly trying out new innovations for the vacuum cleaner. Quite impressed.....

Better to design a floor brush with an openable panel at the front edge and a rubber squeegee to shovel up large piles of litter whenever needed.....

Snowplowing stuff-If you don't have a Fluffy or castle cut floor too, just push down slightly on the wand handle-that will raise the front of the floor tool so it can "gulp" the debris.Did this while cleaning renovation debris with one of my "Pigs" he slurped the stuff right up!!Drywall dust, scraps, nails, conduit box slugs and so on.

I hate snowploughing, and I don't bother getting the wand out even with the DC25's quick release wand! I just tilt the vacuum back and let the cleaner head to the work. Another thing I hate is how I have to do the same thing to go from hard floor to a large area rug, or lift the vacuum. No problem with cylinders, but just a thought
I do love the Dyson fluffy though! :D I want a DC59 and DC41 MK2, and a DC25 again

At first glance,

I thought Sir James was making another attempt into the realm of laundry products with some new variety of clothes dryer!  But this looks like it might be a pretty good product for homes that have lots of hard surfaces.  I don't really see it working well on carpeted surfaces, personally.
