....And,

An example of Sanitare you NEVER see (I'm pretty sure i saw another one once, but other than that, this is one of two i know of!).

What makes this Sanitare so special? The hood is not plastic, but painted METAL! Sanitare realized this wasn't very economical soon on, and switched over to the plastic hood models. Well, that's probably what happened, nobody has any history on this model!

oh, and I LOVE the bag! it's made of a far more softer material than any other Sanitare bag, it inflates huge too! laughing

All of those were great cleaners.  Eureka made some great vacuums.  In my area they were far more poplular than Hoover.  Personally I always felt they cleaned better.  The top fill bag was far better than the Hoover C bag.  The early models with the distribulator were exceptional cleaners even with out the beater bar.

Calem, the Kirbys outnumber the Eurekas in my house! They're always ready to back-up the Eurekas in battle! They both fight on the same side, after all! laughing

Oh, and everyone is welcomed to post their favorite Eureka pics here! smile

Nice! That's position number: Kilo Indian Romeo Bravo Yankee - Indian Sierra - Bravo Echo Sierra Tango - 14, or for those who are not familiar with the NATO phonetic alphabet, the infamous _____-__-____ 14 position, first used in Kirby War II, when the Kirby's peaceful way of life was interrupted by the invading Dyson forces in 1962. Did I mention the Dysons time traveled in order to stop Kirbys before the new 2014 model brought Dyson to shame? Anyhow, it was a great war, yet only lasted 7 hours. Our allies, the Eurekas, the Hoovers, the GEs (along with Westinghouse, they served as air-enforcement), and the Lewyts. The big vacuums went off to fight for quality, reliability and performance, while the smaller vacuums stayed home and made a manufacturing boom. At the end of the war, the Kirby force stood on piles of shredded plastic. As the remaining fragments of the Dyson forced fled back to the future, victory was declared in the name of metal. All the vacuums that fought (except, of course, the Dysons!) Went home, as if Dysons could keep them from beating and sweeping (and there was a TON of that going on out in the battle field!) Glory. Victory of the war was possible thanks to the _____-__-____ 14 procedure! Captain Janitronic IV, accompanied by General Handisac and his two faithful Eureka guards, were walking toward their Military DeSoto, when suddenly an enemy Dyson launched a HEPA filter at Captain Janitronic IV (Captain Janitronic IV was one of the best commanders in Kirby history, he served in Kirby War I and the battle of Sweet-Aire before this)! One of the guards,a Eureka Automatic 260, launched himself in front of the projectile. The HEPA filter bounced off his shining chrome, leaving a small dent and scratch. The other guard began firing RD belts at the enemy Dyson. He was successful, the Dyson fell, it's cord and hose being sliced in half by the rubber belt. Both Eurekas were later rewarded the Golden Handi-Butler award, awarded only to those vacuums who commit great acts very greatly. The Dyson forces would not invade again until 2012.

Welp, that's today's history lesson! Hope you enjoyed the read, first person to decode the NATO phonetic alphabet message gets the Silver Miracle-Head award! laughing

That is also strongly reminiscent of the naval battle at Hampton Roads in 1862. That is when, alas, iron meet oak and the CSS KirbyVirginia smashed the Evil DIE...DIE...DIESON blockading forces that chocked the James River.

Alex, I believe I've ciphered you 14 position NATO message, and here it is as follows: King James Kirby, you see, 14 letters, or could it be KIRBY IS BEST?!tongue-out

Alex, happy endings are relative, it's just a matter of perspective. The right question is: What is the better outcome - plastic are highly refined aluminum, which of course, KIRBY is Al on the elemental scale...Hey, KIRBY is an elemental force...WOW, a no brainer! Alex, here's another photo of a KIRBY babysitting a sweet little baby Eureka who's parent's were prolife.laughing

Alex, please don't forget to burp little Jr. and change his diaper ever 2 to 3 hrs., because he fills them up quite often with greasy DIE...DIE...DIESONS. Please remember to use extra baby powder, because it takes a lot to get that nasty stink off, and we don't want him to get a filthy plastic rash either. I'm really seriously considering about changing his formula, altogether, to something more wholesome and nutritious, but most regrettable, I guess DIE...DIE...DIESONS will have to do for now...poor Jr.!frown
