VERY FINE

High quality vacuums, in my book, one of the best uprights ever made, and I will put it up against anything made today for rug cleaning!

Wow two in one spot! Congrats on the great gift. I'm still on the hunt for one. Hoover at it's peak.

Congratulations on finding your Hoover Citation. Looks to be in really good shape!

Hans - While I am sure the Hoover Citation & Hoover Convertible uprights do a admirable job cleaning carpets, a Royal back from the 80's or 90's would EASILY kick this Hoover's butt & do a way better job cleaning carpets. I'll go as far to say that even back in the 70's, Royal was making a better machine than Hoover did.

Thank you very much! I couldn't agree more! Hoover was at it's prime in the 50s! They are beautiful machines and clean like a dream. One can't beat (no pun intended) Hoover's triple action cleaning!

To my mind...

The only Hoover that was any better was the 150,and it was one of if not the best upright ever built....imo!LOL I love Royals, and own several, in fact my favorite upright to use is a 801 from 1958...but for deep cleaning, I still think these old Hoovers are best.

The 150 is a great cleaner.

It was always daid to be "overenginerred". It was newer than new at the time. It's perfectly balanced, great airflow, great height adjustment.
ONE of HOOVER's finest hours.

Re height adjustment!

It was so good, it works perfectly on new carpets that had never been thought up when it came out!!LOL

I have to agree, I love the 150 as well! It was "years ahead" then and remains an amazing cleaner today! Amazing air flow! Here's my 150 Special- rebuilt in 1950. I'm working on my all original 150 which is in SAD shape! Will post pics of it soon! Forgive the less than fantastic photo...I'm kind of awful with photography! :-/

a pretty good pic. This is the perfect machine at The HOOVER Historical Center. (disclaimer: not bragging or gloating, but sharing) thanks.
