Hey all! I am getting a power nozzle for my Electrolux CB soon, and the cord on the PN that I'm getting is a 3-prong outlet-style plug, while the connector on the machine is a 3-pin connector. Is it possible to swap out the 3-pin socket on the vacuum's motor unit for a 3-prong outlet? I've included pictures to show what I aim to do. Thanks so much!

In theory, yes. But you would have to make sure the replacement outlet is sized the same as the original. Putz around an old hardware store that has been in business a few decades. They will likely have what you are looking for or know where to get it.

I have to say that it would be helpful to see the connector on the powered floor brush cord to see what the plug on the vacuum has to mate to. Without seeing that it is hard to say for sure.

CB cords

There was an adapter cord(or maybe cordS)available from Electrolux for this reason in the 80s.Might be possible to find one but was always a scarce item due to small % of CB sales compared to household.Your CB looks to good to change.I would also not change ends on a good surviving PN cord.If you can't find genuine adapter you might make one from worn Comm PN cord or save entire good PN cord and wire in a length of 3 wire extention cord to fit CB outlet.
(PS--I have a small storage unit with a large amount(10 plus)of CBs that MUST GO!! soon.Any interest??Anyone???Let me know before they make the short trip to the scrap metal yard!!)

Making a cord with the necessary ends is a great idea. Keep all the original stuff original. Make the cord up out of items that are not collectable or otherwise valuble. I did that to adapt a Wessel-Werk brush to a Kenmore wand.

That picture I used is not my machine, but from another member. I want to install that style of connector on my CB, as mine has a different one. I will post a picture of mine as soon as I get back to my dad's.

They made an adaptor somewhere that did what you need, not sure if they still do or not. I have one somewhere is why I know they had it.

I have brand new original CB strap cords with the pin type plug that will work with your machine without changing the receptacle, post a picture of the receptacle to let me see if these are compatible. The cords I have all fit 1205 color CBs all the way to last of the metal CB's. You just need to either use your existing power nozzle cord or make a long cord if your using it on a PN1 out of another strap cord.

I will definitely post pics. Do you have pictures of these cords?
