My fellow VCCG club member, Chase Stewart, drove from Lubbock, Texas, to visit the vacuum cleaner museum today. The first thing we looked at was the new Sirena. While Chase has a very nice vacuum collection, he had never seen one before. Love his facial expression. He really does like it. In fact, he bought my flawless rainbow D3A to take back home with him. It will be his first water filtration vacuum. The Sirena is an inspiration to everyone."Wet dust cannot fly"

My friend and fellow VCCG club member, Bob Humphreys, came to visit today as well. Bob brought his new "perfect" vacuum cleaner, which is a copy of an Electrolux, made in China. It is actually a very well-made machine with a ton of suction. Here is Bob demonstrating it to Chase.

Here is Bob in the 1930s room, with the Singer R4. Arguably, one of the finest vacuum cleaners ever made. Absolutely, one of the most beautiful. It did feature the world's first automatic cord winder on an upright vacuum cleaner.

The Singer R1 (with backward revolving brush, made by the general electric company for singer), and the Singer R4. I am 100% confident that either of these two machines would out clean almost any other vacuum cleaner ever made. If you ever have a chance to use one, you will understand the beast mode power.

Chase was fascinated by the 1930 health – mor. This was the very first filter queen It is a remarkable machine, with a tremendous amount of power. Who knew that a Filter Queen came as an upright, and with two cloth bags?

Health-Mor's stunning array of attachments. How many upright vacuum cleaners have a straight suction rug nozzle as an attachment?

Lovely graphics on the small cloth bag. Wish the Kirby had this feature.

Chase had never used a Birtman built Kenmore. He had no idea they had such great suction.

Here is Chase trying out a 1954 Eureka Roto-Matic. Surprisingly quiet given the excellent suction. And it uses a magnificent rug nozzle that cleans beautifully.

During what years was the Hoover Model 61 produced? That one looks like the one my family had when I was young. It was built like a tank! |

This is most likely the one and only place that Chase can try a general electric "sillouette", the lowboy upright. I have only ever seen one in my life, and it is the one I have.

Chase, with his brand new Fuller brush speedy made 8 pound upright. Two speed motor, HEPA filter ration, and made in the USA. I was very glad to be able to send Chase home with the finest and most powerful light weight vacuum cleaner ever built.

Bob and Chase with the compact C – 5 that Bob gave to me for the museum. It has its original box and has been used only a handful of times.

Huh, here I thought Perfects were made in Mexico and Fuller Brush vacs were made in China. Learn something here every day. Is Tacony moving Fuller Brush vacuum production to the US too? |

What endows the two old Singer uprights with cleaning power that rivals modern uprights? Not trying to start anything, just curious. |

Chase wanted to try out the UK built, 110 V, Hoover sovereign. The grandfather of the Hoover innovation, or as we call it, the Hoover aggravation. Ha ha. Spoken as a man who had to repair a lot of them.

Chase wanted to try out the 1958 Eureka MobileAire with Vibra Beat Nozzle. One of the worst rug nozzles ever made. It might have been able to beat the rug, but it sure couldn't pick up dirt to save it's life.
