Incident Report

-----------------------------------------------------

August 25th,2014

East Coast Oreck Restoration Facility

5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

-----------------------------------------------------

From the desk of Founder & CEO, OreckLover:

-----------------------------------------------------

Dear VacuumLanders,

On August 24th, 2014 something happened that

changed the Oreck Restoration Facility. As I

am the CEO of the facility,I decide what

machines come in and out. Now, I have been

restricting all machines to Orecks. The last

machine that came in that wasn't an Oreck was

a Eureka Boss Ultra and I got that many weeks

ago.Yesterday which was Sunday, August 25th

2014 I went to  garage sale with my Grandmother.

Before I went to her house, I scowered many

websites and the only one I got a result on was

CraigsList. I found an ad that said:

Many items for sale!!! Lawn Mowers, Lead blowers,

grills, vacuums, a truck load of stuff all for

blow out prices!!

I knew that I had to stop at this yard sale. My

grandma and I both love garage sales and estate

sales so I knew that there was no convincing to

go there. When my parents dropped me off at my

grandmas I ran up to her and told her about the

garage sale. She was just excited as I was to go.

After a while me and my grandma set off to go to

the garage sale which was just up the road from

where my grandma lives. When my grandma parked

her 2013 Cadillac SRX I jumped out and "casually"

walked up to the sale. I noticed that there was a

great amount of vacuums for sale. A Kenmore Magic

Blue, Eureka SmartVac, Oreck BusterB, Bissell

Steamer Cleaner, Filter Queen Majestic, Oreck

Restaurant Edition and some more little vacs.

I meandered around looking and soon I got eager so

I asked the man how much the Oreck Restaurant Edition.

The man was very rude about it. I asked if he would

take $20 for it. He claimed it was "brand new" which

it wasn't. He wanted around $200 for it.The Filter

Queen I wasn't interested in but I did leave with

something(s). First I found an iRobot Roomba then I

found a vintage Hoover Convertible which wasn't for

sale. Then a plot twist occured. It turns out the grumpy

man's son was a vacuum collector just like me! I was very

lucky and he said that he was going to give me the

Hoover for free! I was so happy. As I was still browsing

I watched as the grumpy man's son came from inside house

carrying what seemed to be some more vacuums. He put them

down and walked over to me and said,

"I know you liked vacuums so I remembered that I left these

down in the basement. You would probably appreciate more

than I do"

I was so shocked! One of the vacuums was a Electrolux

Upright, the other one was a Eureka StickVac, the last one

was the Hoover Convertible which I mentioned earlier. Also

I got a....

Incident Report Summery:

I left the garage sale with five vacuums in all. The Roomba,

Hoover Convertible, Electrolux Upright, Eureka StickVac and

wait... Did I forget to mention that by the Kenmore Magic

Blue there was a mystery Kenmore? Ah yes the Mystery Kenmore.

I know nothing about it. I know DesertTortoise would like it.

DT, if you want to see more pictures of it let me know. The

Kenmore is very different looking. I've never seen anything

like it. Let me know if you guys know anything about it. Not

to mention that I got the Kenmore for free! I only payed $5

for everything because of the Roomba.

That's how the Oreck Restoration Facility aquired 5 non-Oreck

vacuums.

------------------------------------------------------------

End of incident Report.

------------------------------------------------------------

As I am the CEO of the East Coast Oreck Restoration Facility,

I would like to give a huge thanks to the Oreck Restoration

Facility's sister facility, The Kirby Avenue Prehistoric

Technology Preservation Labs for the idea of formatting

my post like this :)

I may not go into extream detail of each machine but if

you want me to let me know. Also any info about any of

these vacuums is appreciated. The Roomba needs a charger

any ideas on where I can find one?

Let me know if you guys want any more pictures of these

machines, even if you don't want any more pictures, i'll

probably post them anyway.tongue-out

P.S: The other thread got messed up so I had to

re-post. Sorry!

I think that kenmore was made by Sanyo

If I'm remembering correctly I that that kenmore was a Sanyo produced machine. I had one years ago I got at a yard sale. It was a nice little vacuum. And good auction for the size. It's a bagless unit with a washable filter.

You bet your bwerk it's Sanyo!

I have that model in light blue, never seen that color before! Then again, this is the only 1.6 I've seen since I brought mine!

Who authorized this formatting? I'll speak to Mrs.Omega at the front desk about this, she can pull the file. Luckily you mentioned us at the bottom, otherwise it would've been lawsuits EVERYWHERE. Not pretty! tongue-out

Are you and this collector going to have mini-meets and stuff? I've always dreamed of finding another collector in my area, I found one, emailed him, and never heard back! Oh well, someday! cool

The Kenmore version of that compact Sanyo canister vac was given a very cute name: Sears called it the "Let's Clean" which reminds me of the funny usage of English one sees in Japan:

Wow! That was very generous of them!

Yea, I always run-into people that seem greedy, and they don't know what they are talking about. Somebody wanted $100 for a dirty Kirby Heritage 2 Legend, without the attachments! 2 years ago, somebody on CL wanted $200 for a Fantom Cyclone XT! Somebody else wants $80 each for "refurbished" Fantom Twisters. He literally says in the ad "these are the original fantoms folks!". Somebody please help this guy. Somebody else wants $2000 for a used Kirby Sentria 2. Oh, buy the way, don't haggle. These people are FIRM on the price. They must have REALLY been jipped when they first bought that. Let's not forget the cheat in my area that will remain nameless. He is selling vacuum cleaners for "parts", that have been sitting outside in the rain. Picture this, a horrible looking Air-Way for $180. I almost laughed at that one. I inquired about a Hoover PowerDrive that looked OK, at $40. I asked him if it worked, and guess what? He goes on a rant, stating if I send him $15 through PayPal, i'll get a "full evaluation" of the item. He is a cheat, and I have met him before. I am 100% sure he does the trash-day rounds for his junk. He also wants $200 for a pitiful Hoover mo. 28. Needless to say, I am never talking to him again, and I found another PowerDrive for $25, one month later.

On another subject, nice finds, I really like the Electrolux. I almost bought one, but it was too far away to get it.

Would love to see some more images of the little Kenmore 1.6 if you wouldn't mind. Interesting little vacuum. It will be a good companion for the Little Gray Mouse, my other oddball Kenmore/Ryobi/Singer thingamabob. Orphans need love too.

Ooooh, the Filter Fairy was by today with filters for the Little Gray Mouse.

Is this it?

Interesting. The tools go in a plastic bucket that latches to the bottom of the vac, and you carry the whole thing by the carry handle on the vacuum. Did the bucket and tools come with the vac? Ah, I see, get the vac then spend an indecent amount of time hunting down the bottom half and the tools, lol. I see how this works now .......

Man you got me roped, heh, heh, heh.

Great find there on the Electrolux upright! That one looks to be in really nice shape, & they are starting to become hard to find nowadays. Enjoy all your new vacuums.

I was thinking the same thing Kirbylux77. I don't know the rarity but that example is indeed good looking. Quite a nice haul. Well bought.
