Hi everyone so i went to my local vacuum store and saw a Kirby heritage two in the used vacuum section for $75 it looked to be in very nice shape but the price tag made me hesitant to buy it. Is that a good price? Does anyone recommend this as an older daily driver? ok so then later the guy told me that i could look in the basement to get a vacuum for my birthday (i ended up getting a fantom lightning) and I saw a hoover concept two with power surge on the handle, it had it help mate but I don't know if it has its attachments. the only issue is the self propel feature is not working. Is this common? Is it a simple fix? This vacuum wasn't priced so what would a fair offer be? $30-$40? I want to have this vacuum (the machine deemed the best choice) for a daily driver and to have as part of my slowly growing collection. Thanks for your input in advance. Mark

The self-propelled mechanism problem could be solved with just a simple belt change. However I do know those systems can get complicated, and if it truly is broken I would just keep an eye out for another one in better condition. Concepts are fairly common. Does the Kirby come with attachments? $75 isn't awful; I may try to talk him down. I had a Heritage II for a few years, and while it was heavy to carry up stairs, it was extremely reliable and the new HEPA bags can last for months at a time. If the Kirby includes the attachments, then it's not a bad deal. I would go for it. You can't beat a Kirby for cleaning ability and reliability. You may never need to buy another vacuum. You might find a less expensive one on ebay, but by the time you add on the shipping cost, it will probably cost the same or even more. |

for all the input. John, the majority of my collection is Hoover(nothing cleans as well as a vacuum that Beats as it Sweeps as it Cleans) :) and i might get the concept because of the performance i have gotten from my convertible. Does the concept work as well as a metal bases convertible w/ beater bars? Thanks again every one! :)
