I stumbled onto a website for a company called uciSupply.com. They sell used vacuums among other things. They also have an ebay site. Has anyone ever dealt with them and what was your experience? Thanks.

Don't you go buying that two tone blue Kenmore until they tell me how much they want for it! I have a feeling they might be kinda proud of their vacuums.

What is a good price for these vacuum. A guy which have a lot or vacuum tell me he have 3 Kenmore canister in the middle of 80s, one in blue, one in green and one in brown. He sell it at 75$ each. Normally I pay around 20$ max for a used vacuum, but is it a correct price?

How is it different from the one in your old post?

It looks like the headlight hood was refinished without the wood grain but otherwise it's the same.

I saw a very clean cream colored 3.5 with all the tools, a good hose and Powermate sell on ebay last month for $129 plus about $45 for shipping. Seemed awfully steep. I expected it to linger for some months after which I'd make the seller an offer. Boy as I wrong. I have bought two cream colored canisters of this series, one with the wood grain finish, with nothing else both for $40. That seems to be about as cheap as the sell for, and neither had tools, hose or Powermate.

Bebring, you also have to look very carefully because as I found out last week there are two differnt sizes of these canisters. The smaller canister doesn't have the removable panel on the rear with the slotted exhaust port and a central round opening for the hose to use as a blower. The smaller one only has a single round exhaust port/blower opening in the rear and if you look at the handle, it is angled closer to the body of the canister than it's larger cousins. The differences are very subtile. Both versions use the same bag but the bag compartment is a bit smaller on the smaller version.

I think some of the shipping charges are inflated. I shipped a 32lb Kirby Sentria priority 2nd day for only $24 through UPS let it linger

They haven't quoted me a price so I don't know. I have not yet been able to ship a canister vac with the hose and powered floor brush for much below $38. FedEx Ground charges around $20 up to 20 lbs, then their rates skyrocket to $75 based on box size rather than weight. USPS has been the least costly so far when the box is large. $45 to ship all of that across country wouldn't be outrageous.

I just shipped 35 lbs of Electrolux Olymipa, PN, hose, all accessories and bags to Maine via UPS for $32. I find uciSupply to be rather expensive for used vacuums, but it does seem that they are getting more expensive in general. The Internet is wonderful for somethings but it is not so great for others.... the world has discovered that there is a market and testing to see what pricing it will bear.

Aren't business shippers able to negotiate better prices from UPS and FedEx than someone who just walks into the USP store or a FedEx Office (Kinkos) store, or Staples for example to ship one or two packages?

yep, depending on volume... the more you ship, the cheaper it gets and you don't even have to negotiate that hard... and eBay sellers get fantastic shipping discounts on shipping if they sign up through eBay.
