Golly Mike, been doing just that on an ongoing basis as I've gotten shelving units put up and it's a 'massive' undertaking to dredge them all up. You'll have to search the 2007 & 8 Archive Threads for details of what I've posted, I haven't bothered to bookmark my own posts. :-) No more road trips for some time to come - vacation time is over and start back to work on Monday. Ratz...:-( But here's the Tower Of Constellationia, Queen of Filter and Turquoiseiana. 5 Connies on top - blue 82 & a Heather Rose 85 in front , yellow Eureka Super Roto-Matic, Canadian Connie 438, 3 different FQs, Viking 107 w matching Eureka tools, row of hand vacs and accesories, GE Roll-Easy and a bunch of floor polishers - GE, Hoover & Hotpoint) off to the right & a mulberry Canadian Connie 841E in the carton on the floor. |

Did a quick photo survey of the major shelf units and 'carpet of Organization'. This to the right of Constellation Tower are a few of the non-Lux cylinders and floor washer/polishers/rug shampooers, excepting the green Lux B21 downstairs. Lewyt, Fairfax and an apple green Compact C-6 in back, GE Swiveltop on the right with newly restored hose. The two blue cylinders in front are Monitors, next to 2 GEs and a Filtex. |

Down here in the Computering Room is the Tower of Electrolux. I'm sorting out hoses... Yes, there are 4 LXs & 1 LX1 - each one is a variation on the original design. I'll state it here - The LX is my all time favorite vacuum for its complex engineering and ballistic abilities. Excellent for bicep development, too. There are 5 more Lux cylinders to fit on this rack now and I'll have to relocate the accesory boxes and the turquoise Compact, Magic Disc and Polish-Aire, the Plymouth and the two Premiers to another location with the Kenmore 'Bomb" on its KenKart. This is Lux Tower of Power! The plan is to put the 7 Air-Ways on the top level. |

Lastly, the Uprights in a sectional merge photo. Hoover, Premier & Hoover in back. Kirby G3, Heritage II, Tradition and a Dual Santronic 80. Hoover Concept 1 Powerdrive. I favour this powerdrive over the G3. ...and then there's the cylinders still on the kitchen floor to be shelved in Lux Towers - a Goblin, Lux Series 3, Lux ZB30 and Lux ZB54. This completes, more or less, the Canadian Lux lineup ending with the AP100. And the American Luxs from XXX/30 through G. |

Thank you Tom for your kind words and generosity. I have you and Pete to thank for seeding this Constellation population explosion. It's such a treat now to have a converter, hose and tools for the blue & pink 2 speed 716. Blessings also to Doug Smith in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for valiantly filling in many of my knowledge gaps and gifting some rare and precious machines & odd parts to the overall collection. Can I stop now? Rhetorical plea, of course. LOL As for hoses (and I'm short 3 later sied mount Connie hose end fittings for those in the back to graft on to spare hoses in the hose bin) I feel coiling the hoses around the base, forming them into a knot on tub canisters such as the Fairfax, GE and Filter Queen or looping them nozzle-in-coupler on the Kirby necks keeps the strain off them yet keeps them close at hand for a run-a-bout. As for the dangling Luxs, well, I am sorting them out as appropriately as possible to machines with what I've got piled on the couch while marking those few that need the Latex Fix. But that is no way to store or display them. Cylinders are a quandry. I'm going to check out Lowes, Home depot and Rona for out-of-season simple metal Garden hose hangers to mount up high on the walls. If I remember them correctly from when Dads everywhere bolted them to the house foundation by the tap, each one should hold at least 8 hoses safely. Btw, since I now have correct period hoses for the Compacts C6,7,8 I grafted a silver grey ultra flexible slinky-springy vinyl hose that came with a C7 to the Haleys Comet hose ends. It stretches to 8 feet and springs back to 2.5 feet so it will be 'stored' on the machine by inserting the nozzle in the exhaust port. Truly the ugliest heaviest domestic vacuum ever to be marketed, the silver hose compliments the Gold very nicely. I found a paint match in the Automotive Section at Canadian Tire for the textured dark bronze gold - Dupli-Color Universal Gold High Heat Engine Enamel #DE1604. |

I've become converted, tho. Nothing deep cleans carpeting like an upright designed for the job. The front rooms of the main floor are ugly wall to wall that was here when I moved in and I swear they are looking brighter and more colorful. Certainly after running over them in the past 3 months I don't suck up as much fine debris as before. Unfortunately it's that cheap foam backed utility carpet and glued to the pine floorboards. My wish is to replace it all with quality low pile but of course that would involve emptying rooms in sequence. But I need a large playground for the carpet vacuums, right? :-) The floors are so uneven in this 1894 house that laying down laminate flooring is not an option...and it would make the piano sound harsh anyway. But I will be doing laminate and area rugs up on the second floor...and some new battleship linoleum for the kitchen like I have in the bathroom. |
