So I tore down and lubed and cleaned my Convertible. I notice now after a few uses on the broadloom that there is the slightest amount of fine dust around the base of the orange vinyl bag, and a bit on the hood near the vinyl bag. Normal? Tiny crack in bellows? I don't expect perfect performance from a 40yr old vacuum! Thoughts? Guy |

Guy, I think it is pretty normal, all of my Hoovers have that same problem. When I notice it the worst is if I take off a bag to check it and replace that same bag. Something else that I think helps, if you remove the bag from the machine and clean that gasket as well as the metal on the machine, I think it helps to seal that gasket for a while. Make sure that the rubber belt that holds the bag in place is seated in the groove properly as well. If that rubber belt has lost some of it's elasticity, that could be a problem. Just some thoughts. I am sure Jeff or Tom would have some ideas as well. Morgan |

i use a commercial Hoover with a type C bag in dirty conditions at work. when you get it properly fitted it leaks almost no dust. |
