Does anyone remember the prototype Kirby Classic 1CR that had the arm-type speed switch that was used on its successor models (Classic Omega, Classic III and Tradition)? It ultimately was never used, of course, and instead continued to have the two-button speed switch dating back to the Dual Sanitronic 50.
A picture of that can be seen on page 6 of the instruction book. The Classic Omega 1CB's speed switch, as seen in its instruction book (page 4), looks closer to the prototype speed switch seen on its predecessor but without those holes that came from the two-button speed switch. I have never seen any speed switch like that on any actual Omega. If anyone with a 1973-74 build Omega has the original factory speed switch (not replacement), may I have you take it off in order to see what the part number that's on it (134369 or 134373)? Thank you in advance. ~Ben |
