Hello to all of you out there in Vacuumland, I am a new member who recently joined a few weeks ago and I have had a fascination for many brands of Vacuum cleaners since I was a little boy.

My favourite brand both modern and vintage is Numatic, and as can be shown from my username, my favourite hoover is the Numatic Basil NB200, which I am on the lookout for in any colour, however Yellow would be my preferred.

I have a small collection I started about 4 years, 2 Numatics and 1 Beaumark Tiny Turbo V600 in red.
I am very glad to find that so many others share this hobby and appreciate an everyday household appliance such as a Vacuum Cleaner (and of course love the Numatics)!

Here is a picture of my collection so far (of my 2 Numatics) on the left - Numatic Hetty HET200A (purchased in April 2010) and my latest addition - Numatic Henry (yellow) HVR200A.

Thank you all for reading this and I look forward to and hope to get along with everyone and see all of your magnificent collections.

All the best,

Brandon.

Hi guys, thank you very much for your kind welcomes! I can say I most certainly will enjoy my time here. As I said before, it's very good to see that I'm not the only one who appreciates these everyday household items, and I hope to see more of everyone's collections.

Thanks.

Brandon.

Hi Brandon,

I think we can all relate to that moment when you discover "there are OTHERS!!".

Hope you enjoy rummaging around the site, there is lots to see and learn.

Out of interest, you refer to your parents having an "unknown Hoover upright" in your profile - any idea what it looked like? Bagged, bagless, colour etc? Maybe one of us could help you identify it? :)

Chris

Hoover Upright

Haha, thank you Turbo500!

As for this Hoover Upright, I cannot remember it that well, however it was very similar in appearance to the Hoover Junior, except it had the red 'HOOVER' badge on the base of it. I can remember the bag hanging from the back, I was only about 2 or 3 when we had it, but I remember the sounds of it and how well it performed.

Hi Brandon,

If the bag was on the back, it sounds to me like a Hoover Senior - the Junior bag was on the side. Any idea what colour it was?

Chris

Hoover Senior

Hi Chris, you may be right in saying it's a Hoover Senior, but the funny thing is I do not remember the lamp at the bottom (unless that was only specific models). The bottom base/box kind of reminded me of the ones on the old Oreck uprights. If only I had a pic of it.

I can remember the pole being chrome, but I think the base was a sort of yellowy/white (unless it yellowed over time) with a grey section along the bottom, the bag was a grey sort of colour with the Hoover logo and branding written on it many times.

Well thanks for helping me, even if we don't figure it out.

Brandon.

Sounds like it might have been a Hoover Concept One.

I wish you a warm welcome Brandon :) And I think it was you who made Henry hoover videos with your money, if so, I LOVED THEM! You seem like a very creative lad

Hello Brandon, welcome aboard.

I'm glad you're a Numatic fan! I have 17 different Numatics, one of my favorites being my 1995 blue Basil NB200 smile

I hope you have fun here, and if you have any Numatic related questions, I'll do my best to answer them!

All the best.

Joe

THANK YOU all for your very kind welcomes, I really do appreciate it :)

Citroenbx, that is a very impressive collection you have going on there, I used to own a Dyson DC04 I think, green and silver, but it sadly gave up the ghost when its motor decide to smoke (it happened 2x in the same year and saw the death of it). Correct me if I am wrong, but those are the newer Dysons than the DC04 I had?

Ultimatevacman, oh lovely, that's good to see someone else loves the Numatic and Numatic Basil. There was one on eBay but is too far fetched to get and the seller will not give postage (is halfway across the UK in Wales). But it's a shame as it is in very good condition.

Parwaz786, sorry to say this, but I have not made any YouTube videos with Numatics, but saying that I think I will upload the videos I took the other day with my vacuums :).

Thank you all so much for you kind welcomes, and as sebo_fan says, it's good to see many hoover-enthusiasts within the UK.

Thank you!

Brandon.

Numatic Henry videos

@Parwaz786 I don't suppose you are referring to the channel on YouTube with the early yellow HVR200? Who has the videos 'The Hoover Man' and the soft toy monkey? As I know his name is Brandon as well.

Whoever it is, they must be a Numatic fan as well haha.
