How does the dirt get into the box?

It doesn't! surprised

There's a latch in the front that lets the hood lift up, exposing a bag a belt! The 'box' is for the cord-rewinder! wink

Actually, there is no winder at all. The box is hollow and had two hooks in the back!

The Eureka Easy-Glide was Eureka's response to the General Electric Electric Carpet Sweeper with the chrome handle. Same concept for a lightweight stick vac: everything is housed in the main powerhead unit...the brushroll, the motor, the fan and the tiny disposable bag. It's basically an electrified carpet sweeper!
