So now, it's almost August and I read on here awhile back that Kirby was going to be releasing a new model for 2014 completely redesigned from the handle down (not done since 1990 with the Generation 3) that might be called the Avalier. It would have the switch in the handle. Does anybody know if it will still be released this year? I know Kirby will want to keep it hush hush as long as possible to blow out as many remaining Sentria II's as they can.

When I talked with John Lackner at the Convention, he said something to the effect of "it would be something completely new in the vacuum world." I also heard that Kirby and CWP had been working on it for the past four or five years.

The new Kirby could be introduced in the fall-Spring and fall is typically when new vac models are introduced.Just in time for the holiday carpet replacement and fall cleaning season!!Some folks replace their carpets like late in summer or early fall for the anticipation of visiters-make your home nice for them!!So,a new vacuum for that new carpet! We shall see!Haven't heard ANYTHING from the Kirby guy in my area-he's new see how long he lasts.Lately for the past 10 years Kirby dealers just don't last here. The Rainbow dealer has been here for 40 years!-owned by the same family.

Hopefully....

The new Kirby will be more bare floor/attachment friendly, since most customers in the store where I work part time, are ripping up their carpet, and going hardwood and/or tile. It makes it easy to put a Miele canister in their hand, and in some cases the S7 if they don't mind the weight. It's amazing that some consumers still believe an upright is the best suitable for hard floor cleaning, but a good salesman should be able to convince them otherwise. I have a mix of flooring in my home, but the main rooms will forever be carpet for me, even dealing with dog hair. A lot of people put down hardwood/tile, then top with a huge area rug, so they're dealing with both, ugh. That's the way the house was in the '50s and early '60s that I grew up in, then wall-to-wall came into play. I like to keep it separate, either/or. It seems easier that way, to me anyway.

I heard from a very reliable source that November is the official release. The shampoo system will be on the end of a wand not the front head.

New Kirby

I'm sorry , but i hope they get rid of that dry foam shampooer thing , and do a like an extractor .
I really don't like the foam because it makes my carpet sticky, and yucky feeling. i think a Rug doctor does a much better job .

If dry foam is making your carpet sticky, you're using either the wrong product, or way, way too much of it.

I have had excellent results using the Rug Renovator.

Kirby Avalier

This has been talked about before a long time ago so I don't know if this is still the same.
