I bought this about a month ago, a 2000 Hoover Turbopower 2.

After cleaning it up & replacing the bags, filters & belt I have used it everyday & it's brilliant. Great machine with good suction power & sturdy construction. Brilliant for a 1000w machine, last of the great Hoovers IMO.

absolutely agree, Beckham, although I really don't like the cheap lettering they started using on the later models and the standard black tool caddy that didn't match the rest of the machine.

This is actually from the very last run of Turbopower 2 cleaners. There were 3 - yellow 900w, blue 1000w and red 1200w. They were on sale as late was 2003, although by then they really were budget. I remember the yellow model retailing for £49.99 in Woolworths with the red TOL model at £69.99.

Yes I do remember seeing them in Littlewoods for about £50 once but I'm sure that was when the Turbopower 2 was on its way out. :)

Spot on. As I mentioned, these were from the last run. Why Hoover felt the need for the cheap looking letting, I'll never know. It can't have saved them all that much.

The lettering does look cheap compared to previous Turbopower models, but one thing I love is the fact that the hose & tools hide behind the machine, it makes it look nicer & tidier IMO.
