I could cry. Came across this item and the response in their questions. I've emailed him saying to post the stuff here. Why do relatives immediately start throwing stuff out?

I thought I had problems when my sister-in-law threw out two garbage bags full of who knows what after our mom died. It wasn't all trash. Haven't these morons EVER heard of thrift stores? Didn't it occur to brother and the widow that there was a reason the man was keeping these things, no matter how insane it seems to "normal" people. You could cry? After I calm down, I could take a whip to some people. Unfortunately, there are more and more people who can't grasp the collecting concept. I'll bet there are things that man's widow collected that the family thinks are crap.

People just dont stop to think. After a fire in their home (in the early 70's) my aunt threw out all of my grandmothers antique furniture that had been stored in their basement, including a large oil painting of Balmoral Castle that had been brought over from Scotland in the mid 1800's, because there was smoke damage. The painting alone could probably have paid for the repairs to the house.

She, of course, didnt tell the rest of the family untill after it had been done.

My family thinks everything I own outside of our mother's furniture is garbage. Your other story is heartbreaking as well. I sort of admired people who could let go of excess things, but not anymore. There never as you say seems to be any thought, think of all of the other occurances we haven't had the misfortune to have heard.

Just got this message back from the seller:

I am a big recycler and would love to put this stuff into someone else's hands and make money for my 87 year old mother, however, she is 500 miles away from me so I will have to do it all during the summer, i will post pictures and advertise then. I will need to handle it like an estate sale where the buyer comes to the house. Thanks for your interest, hope to meet you tnen

Looks like we may need to plan a trip this summer :)
