Do you realize how many machines I have gotten rid of ?
You always have eBay to check and maybe find another to replace your loss .
I am always on the hunt for NIB machines from my past and have scored
many in eBay and even local yard sales tag sales ect .

Had to buy :) a metro VacnBlo bought it for when I wash the Benz's I will use the blower feature to dry my cars . I was using a leaf blower but that's to heavy and you risk scratching the finish so this will be a safer alternative . Plus these are made in the USA 🇺🇸 .

Eh, Kirby isn't so good at keeping a secret. Look how many of you are speculating on their maybe upcoming new model. Sears just sprang a new Elite canister model on the public with absolutely no warning and nobody knowing it was coming. Don't kid yourself, Kenmore has it's ardent followers too. Heck, our little Sears doesn't even have one yet, and no information either, but they are all over ebay.

But its JUST

kirbyloverdan's profile picture
Speculation nothing is definitive . Not one person knows for sure about anything Kirby is doing . I know people at the factory and heads of Kirby and they aren't telling me anything but the new Kirby will revolutionize the home care industry as they always have .

I have the new Kenmore Elite its still in the box I will open it up soon and post pictures .

D.T, don't get me wrong, I'm a Sears fanatic, too! I really like that new Elite upright they released, but the canister is a bulky mess. Their lower-tier uprights seem fun, too! I was excited walking into that Sears and seeing those new uprights, i even started a thread on the Elite! laughing

Post# 293847 , Reply# 34   8/16/2014 at 13:01 (3,533 days old) by DesertTortoise ()

I think Panasonic's canisters are better sorted than Kenmore's, and for the money there is no argument which one to buy. What I would like to suss out is whether the new motor Kenmore is so proud of is shared by the TOL Panasonic canister. The MC-CG937 appears to have all the good features of the new Kenmore Elite and none of the drawbacks, but who knows what motor it has?

Post# 293936 , Reply# 35   8/16/2014 at 16:30 (3,533 days old) by panofan (West Coast)

DT - I tried to do the same thing - what I would do is look up the part # on searspartsdirect.com and then search google and ebay, crossing my fingers someone selling the motor posted decent enough photos. The best I learned is that one of the kenmore models used a motor made by matsushita - I don't remember if that was one with the new "3D inducer motor" or not.

There have been tons of manufacturers for Kenmores!

fantomfan's profile picture
To name a few: Panasonic, Douglas, LG, Eureka, Fantom, Whirlpool, Singer and the original Sears brand. I think Hoover may have designed their blue Kenmore carpet water extractor, but i'm not sure.

The Blue Kenmore bagless with the headlight looked nice

fantomfan's profile picture
I saw one at Sears, for $90 or so. For what it was, It looked nice. Decent Hepa filter, and better built than the cheaper Eureka Airspeed. I like the color. I am glad that Kenmore is steering away from their awful single-cyclone machines from the past, and replacing them with dual, and multi cyclonic machines. I was VERY tempted to buy the new Purple Kenmore Bagless Canister. It looked beautiful in the store. Maybe when I sell some more vacuums......

I haven't purchased

kirbyloverdan's profile picture
A Eureka in a while and I found this NIB Air speed ultra for $35.00 and thought what the heck .

Very light feels like less than an Oreck but the carpet cleaning results were minimal I know my carpets
are very clean I think it pulled out a teaspoon of dirt if that . The brush roll is too soft which hinders cleaning ability .

Very noisey and seems rather fragile for what this sells for I'd rather buy a Hoover they are much better built and clean so much better .

I am glad to here you say that, Many people on this forum consider everything from China to be poor quality but seldom realize they simply build to the standards the American and European owned company ask them to.

I have seen really good quality come from China and really poor quality come from Germany.

Quality has nothing to do with were something in made but rather what price it is made too.

Any one who deals with sourcing from China will know your choices are endless,

I recently helped source a product from China for a friend, we had to choose what quality bearings we wanted, if we wanted quality copper we wanted for the winding, how much time they were to spend finishing the product it all comes down to price. You want cheap and nasty you can get it, you want a vacuum that looks and feels like a Mercedes with a hose you got it. You even get to choose quality control.

Some have not a clue it all comes down to you get what you pay for PERIOD just as you have said .

They need to get over the China is junk because China is going no where and manufactures will continue to use them until a cheaper country comes along .

I love all of my China vacuums they are of top quality .

Stiff brush roll used in a Aerus Guardian I can't remember when it was an early model right after the 8000/9000 .They had to use a more powerful PN motor it was also used in the Lux 6000 upright both were short lived people were complaining it shredded carpet fibers . I loved it they really took off like self propelled .
Many members on this site have posted wanting one they are no longer available I bought this as a back up packed it away and forgot I had it .

Electrolux Green brushroll

I have 2 of those green brushrolls. They do tear up a fine carpet but they can make a beat down rug look new again too. I pop one in every now and then for the indoor/outdoor carpet in the dogs room, nothing escapes those stiff green bristles. And you do have to pay attention.. .the vacuum will take off on it's own if the brush is left on and you let go of the handle.

Dan, I am JEALOUS!

Dan, I absolutely love your extensive collection! My favorite is your new Rainbow! I have a deep connection with Rainbow Vacs. When I was at the age of 3, my aunt was given a Rainbow D4 SE PE as her wedding gift. Her husband, my uncle, was best friends with the dealer. She used it for several years and when 3 kids came along, and an inside pet, she ripped all of her carpet up and aid hardwood. The Rainbow got kicked to the garage and was there for 3 or 4 years before I asked about it. I asked her if I could rescue it and told her I would promise to care for it like it's a child, and I have. I'll be 18 years old on October 22nd, and I love that Rainbow more now then I did at the age of 3. Every evening after school when I was little, I would go up to her house, run straight to the Rainbow closet, and get it out. I have seen the new Rainbow, and your new rainbow. I am
Absolutely dying for one, but I know we just don't have the funds right now. I've tried every way in the world to get one. I was willing to trade in all of my vacs for the new Rainbow, except for my first Rainbow that is, but the total only came down to $2200. There's no way I can afford that. Lol It would have to be $100 before I could even think about purchasing it. Oh well, maybe one day. Is it bad that I've actually thought about selling Rainbows just to get to use the new one? LOL! Okay, I'm pathetic. Anyway, I love your collection! Here is a picture of the Rainbow that started it all for me!

Anything over $1,400 is too much for a new rainbow. I paid a little less than that for mine a year ago, you have to be firm with the dealers.

Just so you know, I was able to find one of the green Electrolux brushrolls :-) . My local Aerus dealer in Barrie, Ontario had a good used one that he was willing to sell for $33 CDN dollars plus tax. However, a warning to anyone who wants this brushroll for it's improved performance....do yourself a favor & just get the Aerus 10 degree brushroll. The performance between the green brushroll & the 10 degree brushroll is exactly the same, I found no improvement whatsoever in cleaning performance with the green brushroll.

The part for the 10 degree brushroll is: 48497 Brush Dowel (10 deg) & it sells for $69.99 CDN thru any Aerus franchise in Canada. One other way to improve performance is to take out the floating height adjustment in the back & "fix" the back wheels permanently with two metal pins, between the new 10 degree brushroll & fixing the rear wheels, it makes a HUGE difference in the powerhead's performance.

Well thank God I did I found a brand new in box Aerus central vac complete with all attachments for $99.00 and 50% off plus the lady took off another $10.00 because I was so nice to her that I gave her as a tip for doing that :) gotta have this installed while renovations are getting done to my house .
