Just thought I would share a couple of photos of my Hoover 652-A from England. These were taken a couple of years ago when he had just arrived in the States. The other Hoovers have gathered round to check out their newest sibling!

We had the same colour scheme in South Africa on our Hoovers as the UK. I will say compared to USA models the UK and SA colour schemes were really boring.

I like the colour matched furniture guards and handle grips on the USA models aswell as the different colours.

The picture is a bit misleading as 3 of the convertibles in it I've custom painted. The purple and blue model 70 and turqouise model 69 should have pearl white bases. The coral red 728 should have a light taupe base. Most of the Hoover bases were white, but every once in awhile they'd do something crazy like the green 707.

I love how the 652 contrasts with the others though. Every time I look at it it's like looking at a black and white photo of a vacuum cleaner!

Nice collections! I'd love to see more of the Convertibles with the painted bases. I'm surprised Hoover didn't do that more often.

Hoover 25

Nice collection! Question: I see a Hoover 25 in the group. How well do you like it for everyday cleaning? I'm considering getting one but would like to know more about how it compares to, say, a Royal in terms of cleaning power and ease of use. Thanks very much!

Got one more Hoover convertible to my small collection

One more Hoover convertible in my small collection.
This is not a Hoover 652A but a Hoover 6525C.
This one is my 7th vacuum of the same model, very commun in France.

The saler has bring it to me. Vacuum stays about 40 years in a basement and stays "almost" new. The bulbe lamp works, the brush strips are in very good condition.
All other parts are in perfect condition. I just had to put a paper bag and install a belt.

Believe me, I was happy to get it for only 25 €

Nice cleaners!

I need, someday, to get a "dirtsearcher " like that.

That is an unusual filter bag.  It only fills half of the outer bag.  You might want to secure that outer bag AROUND the bellows.

Hoover Junior

Hi John.

The junior was given to me from an old lady and has never been used.

Hi John,
Why do you want me to put the blue bag around the bellow? Is there a technical reason or just to be nicer? Is this safer for the bellow?

652 Bag

Hi Olivier

You can buy a cable tie and put it around the bag to cover the outer bag.

Cheers.

Paul

? ? ? ? ? ? ?

I already have a cable tie on the bag.
If I let the bellow this way, this is because I prefer like this.

I was just looking to know if there is a reason to cover the bellow

Well, if you prefer it that way

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
that's fine. It just always goes down to the base, covering the belows. I suppose, if one weren't careful, one could accidentally kick the bellows, loosening it from the cleaner. It just looks like it 'off'. But, if you like it that way....enjoy.
Some of the commercial cleaners, with the cup, have exposed bellows, so, I guess.................
I had to buy a bunch of those little screws and nuts (replacements), to secure the outer bag to the base.

Still, a great cleaner, with or without 'exposed' bellows, lol.
John

I THOUGHT someone did funky things

to some of those cleaners. They did have WILD colorists at HOOVER. It's amazing, (through this group) to see the many differences between U.s. Hoovers and the european ones.

People are amazed when they see something foreign to them.

Hi John, I can cover the bellow if you think this can help to secure the bellow.
The base of outer bag is good, nut and screw are there.
I would not risk to tire the small spring which supports the outer bag (see picture)

I just ordered 12 more belts. With 7 vacuums, it is better to have many.
