After hearing that
I'm so glad I have a central vacuum! Okay ..
1. The bearings in the brush roll are dirty & need to be cleaned/replaced. 2. You need to attach the bag properly by taking it completely off the vacuum, unscrew it, slide it over the 2 plastic guides that are holding it on the black thingy BUT first .... 3. Get some glue or caulk to plug up the hole before you attach the bag properly. Take the belt off & run the vacuum, if it sounds quieter, it's the bearings in the brush roll. It also looks like that metal plate that covers the brush roll belongs to a convertible with a metal base too, I had to play it again & stop it to check that out which might also be causing it to be loud. Keep us informed.. | ||

Can you show me a picture of the RIGHT metal plate. If this is the wrong one, I might buy the right one if I do decide to completely restore this machine. | ||

The metal plate is tight on the machine. Like it does not move around one bit. So then, it is the right one. I will make a video of it on without the belt, and you will hear how it sounds. | ||

I have once taken the motor apart. The fan is actually in excellent condition. But I will make a video of it on without the belt. And then you tell me if it sounds ok. | ||
