hello all. a few months ago I made a thread called Kirby sells mans worst nightmare. and it was noted that the last one to go wins because no vacuum can get everything well today on YouTube I came across a perfect example illustrating how this can make any cleaner or product look good. here is that silly keeler bin being used and the demonstrator is completely convinced his bag is the problem take a look.

Watched the video--WHAT A JOKE----the tester DOES NOT have his vacuum floor height set properly-notice how you hear the brush stalling when he pushes the vac across his floor.THEN---when he puts the Keeler bagless device on-no more brush stalling.Think he is getting less airflow-the nozzle isn't being pulled to the floor as hard as before.AND---He didn't check inside the bag to see what he picked up the first time.Last thing-----WHAT is with these VERTICAL videos-can't the cameraman hold his camera properly???Your eyes aren't oreinted vertically on your face-they are HORIZONTAL-those types of videos DRIVE ME NUTS!!!!!!I am afraid I can't take this joke of a test seriously! Now will see what other members have to say-bet its going to be slam the Keeler device again!

i have to agree

This was a total misrepresention of the vacuums performance. I noticed when he adjusted it that pitch change ya listen to I figured he would stop. But just kept going. What I would do if I had the money to just throw away on one of these keeler clowns bins I'd vacuum with it first then the bag just to show yes some dirt will be left behind but look how much more the bag gets then this nonsense bagless device witch many argue is no more than a eureka bin on a PVC pipe. But while the matter of adjusing comes up many of us know to listen for the change of sound but why in Kirby demos or during any part of the sale do they not show or teach the consumer this? Its always push it all the way down what's the benefits of showing the perspective owner the wrong way to use a vacuum?

The Keeler conversion kit is a piece of junk. In fact, it's inventor Jim Keeler is, in my opinion, a snake oil salesman and a con artist. He was a member of Vacuumland for about a month before being thrown off. His 'kit' is the stupidest thing I've ever seen done to a perfectly good vacuum (the Kirby).

You can't fix stupid

You'd probably get better results cleaning with the Kirby dirt meter IMHO. If I ever found a Kirby with one of those keeler things, I'd take it off and smash it to bits.

Why smash it?

When you can put it on new Kirbys in a glass case, with a card stating ' How NOT to use your Kirby!'tongue-out

No vacuum get all the dirt

Even as great as Kirby's are there is always some dirt left behind. That's why I hate carpet. Much rather had hardwood. Yet these people are so dumb they wil pitch a good Kirby or Hoover for a dc24 or some tiny little Bissell broom just because they can see what it does manage to pick up.

You can hear it

You can hear it losing agitation as he uses the bagless device, and when he stops moving it you can hear the motor straining due to the clogged filter.

He just proved that a Kirby does a great job cleaning carpets with it's bag or with that stupid Keeler bin attached. If he was vacuuming new carpet he'd be pulling up stuff no matter how many times he went over it and with whatever he had attached to the Kirby. What I don't get is why would you want a bagless Kirby in the first place?

If you really want a bagless Kirby-just get one of the older ones that had the SaniEmptor and dump bag.Is the "Forever" Bags outfit still around? They made retrofit cloth dump bags you could use in place of the paper ones.I think that would work better than the Keeler thing-and probably cheaper, too.Guess if you are handy with the sewing machine--you could make your own retrofit cloth dump bag.
