I rec'd the following email today and thought y'all might enjoy reading it.

~~~~~~~
My wife and I moved from Southern California to Oregon about 10 years ago. The attached photos were taken this Christmas.
We purchased our Compact vacuum from a door-to-door salesman when our twin boys were two - 45 years ago. I'm sure we purchased it because of the Queen For A Day feature. The vacuum (we call it the little green pig) has followed us from Huntington Beach, to Denver and San Jose, and now to Oregon.
About the only problem we have had was replacing the plug which the wife keeps pulling off of the end of the cord every other year. The vacuum has been great. We've probably put over 200,000 hrs on it. The kids still remember using the pig to flock Christmas trees in Huntington Beach. Thanks for the history. It brought back many memories.
That's some owner loyalty! I wish mom had kept her old vacuums, they stayed an average of 12 years apiece, and still worked. Great email.
Super cool!Those older pigs were sure durable-that story proves it!The new ones made today may NOT be that durable becuase of the lower quality Chinese made motors put in them.(Mg2)
I would hate to see it leave they're family!! That would be like the vacuum dying, like a kid dying. Nice story thanks for sharing it with us!! Great photo too!
Well, Kyle, from what I gather, this family has no intention of giving up their Compact! Indeed, they seem quite attached to it! (How many people -- other than us collectors -- have you ever seen who posed for a photo with their vacuum cleaner??!)
