Spotted on eBay -- this nice lady certainly had a wonderful Christmas! hahahahaha

(Granted, while I'd be thrilled to find a Hoover vacuum cleaner under the Christmas tree, I doubt that she was quite so elated.)

Another collector told me that it's a Model 65 from 1959. They must have waited 11 years to develop the film! Or maybe hubby was a cheapskate and bought her a used machine!

My Mother Said

If my father gave her a vacuum cleaner for a present she would strangle him with the cord.

Ditto Fred............Kay also added she would have beaten him the handle as well. The same went with an iron, toaster, blender, etc.

This is a tough one... I would say its a model 67 if I had to choose between the two. The "Hoover" on the bag seems to be reflective, which it would have been on the model 67, not the 65. That ink used on the 67's bag was silver.

What throws me though is the tie that the gentleman in the foreground is wearing, I would think the picture date is correct at 1970. Neckties were much thinner in the late 50s and early 60s.

The other thing I notice is the brown Tufflex hose in the box, behind the cleaner. If the cleaner had been given before 1963, it would have been a white Ultraflex hose.

Maybe the cleaner was old stock from wherever it was purchased?

it's nice to see you guys posting again. It's like you disappeared off the face of the earth. Glad you're healthy and doing well. It was a shame you couldn't make it to the convention. It's not the same without you.

Well, what do I know. I'm no Hoover expert. I'm just going on what a collector who is a Hoover expert told me!

Tom has the vault... letters are silver. The 56 is more pink, and generally had a bigger bag.
Here are Tom's and mine.
