I notice that...

Hello.

I notice that your profile pic on here is a DC02 De Stijl box. Is there any chance you could please post some pics of the box, if you still have it. I have an awesome DC02 De Stijl just restored and need to buff some scratches from the front.

Thanks

I actually have the box and brand new cleaner inside. And I'm pretty sure instructions too.
I will double check tomorrow. The box isn't the best but he cleaner in pristine and has never been switched on! Has all accessories too I believe.

I'm not sure if we are selling this one right now. We have had a lot of interest in it and are tempted to store it away in the hope that one day it will be valuable for the children. Though tou would know more than me.

Hello.

Dont worry, I've had a busy weekend too so I hAven't been on here much.

WOW. That's amazing to have it all BRAND NEW IN BOX. very jealous.

Any pictures of the box, the cleaner or the instructions would be amazing. I'm so excited now :-)

Well I hope your children would appreciate your efforts to secure them something for a nest egg, so to speak.

I recently moved out from home the same time my mum moved and I lost 2 of my Dyson boxes, I'm gutted as they really do complete the items. Some of my Dysons have the instructions I'm very pleased to have a Dyson DC02 Antarctica Solo edition with the correct colour coordinated instructions and my DC01 De Stijl and DC04 De Stijl also have the right manuals too.

I really need to organised myself and get pictures online for people to see. If anyone is interested that is lol.

Oh my goodness.

Thank you so much.

I wish you could see the smile on my face. You are very lucky!!!

Do you mind me asking, are you a collector of all/any vacuums or mainly Dysons?

I am not really a collector to be honest. We took over my father I. Laws shop when he retired and came across lots of old vacuum cleaners which we thought were worthless.

By pure chance I discovered that they were not in fact worthless and had some incredible interest in some of the items. Turbopower 2 u2462, Purepower Bigfoot, dc01 (boxed), dc04 absolute, dc04 Zorbster, dc07 animal, hoover whirlwind etc.

Well that's awesome. I am a Dyson man, but I do remember my parents had a chocolate brown Turbopower upright. I think I made the connection a while back when I saw some BNIB DC04s make their way onto eBay. Have you had much interest in the DC04i with HEPA? I have one on my shelf.

My friend recently sorted his fathers garage out, and his father used to own an electrical shop and I would have been first in line to have all the old vacuums, all brand new in boxes and some spare parts, but the reason my friend had to go clear the garage was because the roof had collapsed and it was filled with debris and water from a storm so it was all damaged and skipped. A sad day.

Matthew, you'll be able to identify that TP here. Sounds to me like a U1102 Electricity Board Exclusive.

No I'm afraid not.

It had a solid body, bagged system a little flap to adjust the air freshner no hose. It was a basic model I think. From when I remembered it didn't get used coz it never picked up. All the wheels were chipped as well.

How funny I remember that.

Sorry, Matthew, but I honestly can't recall a Turbopower hardbag in chocolate brown. Nearest I can think of is the maroon U2194. I think they came in every colour except brown lol. Do you know if it had a headlight or not?

There was a Little Exclusive that I remember. I always thought it was black but it could've been dark brown. This model had no headlight.

Paging, Rob...any insight into this?

Oooopppssss. I might be wrong here....

Oh dear.

I am mightily embarrassed. It was probably burgundy. Just asked mum she thinks red'ish.

Can't remember a headlight, but I think so. I think height adjustment too.

Ah, don't worry, ours memories play tricks on us all lol.

In that case, it would have been a U2194 from the first line up. 1983 - 85. VERY popular at the time.

Out of interest, what did your Mum replace it with?

Post# 284992 , Reply# 19   6/17/2014 at 06:56 (3,572 days old) by dyson89 (Norfolk, UK)
Well funny you say that....

If it's dated to the 80's I came along in 89, I can remember it in the 90's when we moved from London to Norfolk. While we were in London we had an old White Panasonic upright, making 2 vacuums to a bungalow.

Then when the Panasonic gave up in Norfolk we had a Dyson DC04 Absolute in purple and yellow.
Then DC07 Animal. Now mum has a Dc25 Drawing Edition.

Ah, my childhood vacuum. Again, very popular cleaners.

Funnilly enough, my Mum also replaced a TP with a Panasonic 40 series.
