Fred,

Thanks for sharing. How fun. BTW, how do you embed the youtube screen into the message?? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks.

Classy British adverts! I sent Ian a British Constellation ad on one of his threads. Whoever is posting these on YouTube, keep 'em coming!

Love the commercials, guys. I wish that great machines like this were still available. Who would not buy a Hoover "DeLuxe"? What a great machine. How did the clip on tools work on the Junior Deluxe? Was it simply front conversion or some other special port? Great thread!

Tools....

Hey Tom

The Junior Deluxe was a stripped down version of the Starlight lacking the headlight and bag full indicator(which worked in the same way as the DAM/Convertible, the tools are standard front conversion - the 1st UK model to use a pan converter.

It came in several colours, the yellow being the most eyecatching!

Thanks Seamus! Hoover went to the pan converter on just about everything here in the US around 1977. This is where I lose interest because it began the era of some very loud and bland vacuums from North Canton. Great videos!

Those are super cool Fred, now if we could only find some American versions of 1950's vacuum television commercials. I have about 15 hours of vintage TV commercials from the 50's and 60's and in all that I only had one vacuum commercial (GE "drag around tragedy"). I've found plenty of other commercials for major appliances, just not vacuums :(. I wonder why? Maybe the vacuum cleaner was a more mature product by the time television started to become popular in the late 40's thru the 50's, but I do find a lot of print ads in 50s magazines for vacuums so that doesn't quite add up. I'm still sure there must be others out there somewhere.
