Thanks Seamus! Hoover went to the pan converter on just about everything here in the US around 1977. This is where I lose interest because it began the era of some very loud and bland vacuums from North Canton. Great videos! --Tom | ||

Those are super cool Fred, now if we could only find some American versions of 1950's vacuum television commercials. I have about 15 hours of vintage TV commercials from the 50's and 60's and in all that I only had one vacuum commercial (GE "drag around tragedy"). I've found plenty of other commercials for major appliances, just not vacuums :(. I wonder why? Maybe the vacuum cleaner was a more mature product by the time television started to become popular in the late 40's thru the 50's, but I do find a lot of print ads in 50s magazines for vacuums so that doesn't quite add up. I'm still sure there must be others out there somewhere.
