Hey guys,

Could anyone tell me how old this Electrolux is, or what year it came out? Thanks!

Michael

The EPIC 6500 was made from 1993-2002. That dark gray was around in the late 90's to 2000. So it's about 15-17 years old. Nice vacuum and a very fair price.

Epic 6500

Good information above. This one seems nice, complete and in good condition. Two of the few possible problem areas with heavy use are worn electric contacts at the power nozzle swivel elbow and broken O-ring on automatic control(dial on top). Both easy fixes if problems develop with use.The lighter plastic body and after filter are good features not found on the metal body type.We often forget the actual age of Electrolux and other quality vacs as they continue with trouble free service year after year.

One other thing, other than changes in color and recently, motor, this vacuum is exactly the same as today's Lux Legacy.

Thanks for the info! I can't wait to get this vacuum. I've always wanted an Electrolux canister. I have an upright (Aerus), but when I think of Electrolux I think of canisters. I also like that this vacuum is pre-Aerus.
