I got this one yesterday, found on Craigslist for $50, came with all the attachments and in very good, fairly clean condition, though I still gave it a good cleanup. I haven't really got to use it yet, I will tonight though. What I am curious about is how well the set of reusable filters actually filter, the was some dust after them when I got it, but they needed a good washing and that usually seems to get the filter catching dust well again. I'll report back tonight with more commentary and a video too!

And with the box filter that fits on the exhaust port, I've not seen any dust. I do like when the suction starts to slow a bit, time to empty which is great, just brush off the filter, I've vacuumed off both of them but not washed them for fear of it losing the capability of holding the dust. I think my brushroll might be a filter queen but I'm not 100% sure, because it uses a filter queen belt. This remind me of the Fairfax minus the bags. Cheers!!!! Mark D.

I have found that if you use the new style Silver King filters (the Hepa ones) in between the Water-Matic filters (placed on top of the dirt container's cloth filter), you have exceptional filtration and a system that takes forever to clog up. 20 years ago, at the first VCCC meeting held at my home in St. Louis, I demonstrated the suction and airflow capacity of the Water-Matic by sucking up two full Hoover type A bags of dirt, without losing suction or airflow. It's an awesome vacuum, even though it's somewhat basic. Love mine.

So far I love mine too, it seems to really clean well and is very well built. I haven't noticed much dirt getting past the first filter yet, after using it to vacuum my house twice I took the second filter out and tapped it in front of a light to see what would come off of it, nothing I could see in the light did. The fluffy dirt does seem to cling to the filter, but there;s not been any noticeable loss in power, I suspect the layers of fluff are helping keep the fine dust from caking on the filter, so that may be its secret to maintaining airflow.

They are still made. the black model is still the new model. I believe its the water matic filter magic V. It is a good very well made metal machine however the power nozzle could use an upgrade (basically a filter queen nozzle) and the hose needs to be longer. I have one that is missing the wheel dolly and I called the company about getting one. My machine is about 6 years old and according to them cost almost $3000. The wheels was $70 so I didn't get them, I just use my fairfax wheels with it.
