Welcome to VACUUMLAND! Free of dust bunnies since 2006!Tongue out

You do mean the brand HOOVER, right? Or are you using the British term for vacuum cleaners in general?

Glad to see another HOOVER fan out there, you'd get along greatly with John Long (gottahaveaHOOVER is his username)! He's the biggest HOOVER collector in the east (if not the continental United States!). I'm a big fan of HOOVERS, too, only my household has more than strictly Hoover branded cleaners (unlike John's, except for the TWO Kirbys he keeps in the cellar!Tongue out)!;?

Welcome! What's first on your hit list?

Are you a strip it down and good as new guy or just replace the belt and have fun?

thanks for the great welcome!

I would like to thank all the sincere folks who welcomed my new membership. Yes it is the brand Hoover that I like so much. I started recently with Hoover Twin tub washers. I acquired two over night. I have always had a love for all kinds of cleaning machines in general. I was a drycleaner for 20 years. Luckily I have a huge basement and my wife is an antique lover and collector also. Thanks so much! Dryclean1

Hello, and welcome! I like Hoovers as well, but my biggest favorites are Electrolux and Kirby. I did see quite a few Hoovers when growing up but the vast majority of families in our area had Electroluxes and Kirbys.

My favorite Hoovers are the 700, 825, 925, 27, 28, 150, the Duster, the 913 & 918 commercial models, the 64 Citation, and the later floating Constellations -- especially the turquoise 454 and the tilted 843 (both the gold and yellow versions but I kinda favor the yellow one -- it's a more fun color!)

The models I currently have are 102, 105, 541, 700, 475, 918 (two of them, both slightly different), 454, 843, Celebrity QS, 4403, Decade 800, and a Bag Cleaner.

Someday I'd love to find another 825, 925 and 150. I've always regretted letting them go although I had to do so at the time.

Here (in no particular order) are some photos of my Hoovers, some of which I no longer have.

my collection is started!

I just obtained a nice hoover convertible upright from I think the early 70s. It is a lime green and has a patterned vinyl bag. I just vacuumed my front entrance with it on Sat. My wife couldn't believe how it picked up the pine needles with no -problem at all! I still want to collect hoover constellations, the cannisters have always been a favorite for me.

That's good to hear that you NEED/WANT more HOOVERS! Who doesn't? (Alright, hands down, some of you).

The model 84 was made in 1956 and 57, and there was a model 84-B made in 1957 and 58. The 84 was the second model of the Hoover Constellation, the first being the model 82, which was made from 1954 through 1956. Congrats on a great find.
