Ken,
You have a model 259. It is one of the few Royal metal uprights out there with a two-speed motor, the second (lower) speed best suited to low-pile carpeting and delicates. Here's another 259 to see here (by Hans aka kenkart): www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-... ~Ben |

Ken,
I also wanted to say that I myself have two Royals: a model 880 dated February 1985 and a 5000NA dated December 1987. I purchased both of these for $25: the 5000NA was the first (working) Royal metal upright I ever owned, and I found this in July 2011 at the Red, White & Blue Thrift Store in Gladstone. Believe it or not, back in 1994, at that same place, I also found a non-working Royal 801 from the early 1960s. The 880 was purchased via a Craigslist ad. The seller of that machine originally wanted $50 but I made an offer to buy it for $25, which the seller accepted. ~Ben

Ken,
Currently there is/was a part no. M305G attachment kit for all Royal metal upright vacuums with a belt cover plate. You'll want that. Or, you can get an older 303 attachment kit. If you have at least $75.00, you can lock in your bid for this pristine looking blue set... it ends in 1 day and 3 hours. Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROYAL-VACUUM-ATT... ~Ben |
